My gut tells me the toughest team usually wins the big one and the Steelers seem to be the tougher team and the one that will control the trenches more often than not. I could be full of shinola, but that's my gut.

I'm not that surprised Pittsburgh crushed Denver. I felt the Pats lost last week more than Denver won it. The Pats weren't nearly as good as last years Pats and they definitely outplayed Denver - they lost, and deservedly so, on turnovers. Pittsburg handled the crowds and the refs better than the Pats did and most definitely earned their bowl spot.”

“I'm still not hearing much respect for the Seahawks. After the Seahawks destroy the Steelers in the SuperBowl, people are going to say the Seahawks didn't have to play anybody. Washington #6 seed, Carolina #5 seed, and Pittsburgh #6 seed. But that's ok, the media focus and pressure will be on the Steelers the next two weeks.

Steelers won't have the success running the ball against Seattle like they did against the AFC. Pittsburgh blitzs that worked against the AFC will be picked up by the best offensive line in football which will allow Hasselback to pick apart the Steeler's secondary. Barring injuries, mistakes, and bad referee calls:

The NFL has the Steelers as the home team. Lots of people are driving to Detroit from Pittsburgh because it's so close. Seattle is playing on the road, too. Lots of Steerler fans are questioning Cowher's decision especially since he didn't consult anyone including ownership on the decision.

Last year, Gov. Rendell delayed his budget
address to the state legislature so he presumably would have more time to hang around in Jacksonville and "celebrate" the Eagles' Super Bowl victory. Of course, the only problem was that the Eagles didn't win.
This year, he asked state lawmakers to delay the address by 1 day - until Feb. 8 - so he'll have more time in Detroit, where the Steelers will battle the Seahawks in Super Bowl XL next Sunday.
Lawmakers agreed to the delay, albeit reluctantly.
"We don't view it as being
a big deal, but we hope he doesn't jinx the Steelers the way he did the Eagles last year," Steve MacNett, the Senate Republicans' general counsel, told the Harrisburg Patriot-News.
House Republican spokesman Steve Miskin was a little more vocal.
"He better not have jinxed this," Miskin said. "The Steelers were unstoppable."”
