Yeah, why challenge the spot if it's a first down anyway??

yardage is still yardage...it's a game of inches

Green bay didn't lose a time out. They were already out of time outs and were charged for a "4th" time, but without being penalized

unless theyve changed the rules very recently, you cant challenge a call if youre out of time-outs

it was an extremely close call. by the nose of the ball, if i remember correctly. packers apparently thought it would have been short

i just watched the game film. not only was green bay not out of time-outs, but they had all 3 left.

My bad, it was an injury time-out in the last 2 minutes of a half that I was thinking of. That happened Sunday. Somehow I attached it to that play.

still, how did losing 1 timeout out of 3 cost them the game. I could see if it was there last one and they had no way to compensate, but they still had 2 time outs left and they weren't even on offense yet.

it couldve made a difference because they couldve gotten an extra play or two, and maybe not had to have hurried so much

I heard Pats fans last week saying Dallas is an undisciplined team. They got that right. Still the best the NFC has to offer.

What did you all think of NE going for another score with 25 seconds left?

i only skimmed the game. so either a) they were rubbing it in b)they wanted to get some practice in c) they were padding the stat sheet

or maybe all or 2 or none of the above

It was a great start to the NO/ Seattle game last night. Pretty wild when the camera fell on the field, too. I didn't know they were that big.

The Panthers won, much to my surprise.

Go Jags!

How about the end of the Bears game. Down 14 with 3 minutes left, they tie it up too quick. Peterson takes the kickoff back 50 yards and Longwell kicks a 55 yard FG to end the game.

I think Indy may be the only team that can beat the Pats. No one has the defense to stop Brady and that offense.

I think they were giving their rookie running back a chance to get some work and some practice against a red zone/goal line defense while running out the clock. With their top two ball carriers injured, they might need him soon. So, they ran him for the last three plays.

Of course it also meant they don't give sh-- if they tick people off, or pile on points.

I predict that more than one Dolphin fan will say that if the Pats run the table there should be an asterik by their name in the record book due to their admitted cheating.

They will also say that their accomplishment was solidified by Tagliabue in a meeting room and not on the field by the team.

It was ridiculous how Jaws was going on about how little Bobby Sanders made the Indy D impenetrable. Kornheizer was joking that he must be Chuck Norris and Jack Bauer. Then danged if Sanders didn't make 3 big plays.

I picked up the Jags D for a fantasy team - they only allowed Indy 29 pts!

i truly dont understand the jags abandoning the run before the game even started. ok, garrard is a better passer than leftwich, but not that much better. theyve still got jones and taylor, arguably the best 1-2 rb tandem in the league. for all their swagger, they showed that they were afraid of indys D.

the jags screwed themselves by cutting leftwich. did they cut him to make room on the salary cap? because it would have been a good idea to keep him as the back-up, because the one they have blows.

that game was no where near as close as i thought it was going to be...i thought a 5-0 team going against a 4-1 team, a devision # 1 vs. a #2, in jax, outside, it rained all day, jax KILLED them last year would make for a good game....of course it was a good game cause the good guys one, i just thought it would be closer...bring on the Pats

Leftwich is a loser with feet of stone, and pretty much a known quantity. There's more up-side with Garrard and he's playing better than Letwich has played in a while.

Strange NFL season this year - hi highs (Pats, Colts) and lo lows (Dolphins, Rams).

toe - it is a neat turn around. Miami, which in '72 had the best record and, was arguably, the strongest or second strongest NFL team ever on track to be one of the worst ever this year and New England which has had some of the worst teams ever (ESPN put the '90 Pats second only to the winless '76 expansion Bucs on its worst NFL list) is being touted as one of the best ever with the Colts (the '81 and '91 Colts are on the worst list) being the only competition.

When the Colts get a few more rings on their hands then they can say they are as good as the Pats. Until then they remain a lucky team that backed into the super bowl with a weak Bears team.

Pats following Indy in rolling over a 4-2 team. Its like they are both in a league of their own. I'm definitely looking forward to next week. If it was in Foxboro, I'd pick the Pats and give plenty points. At Indy, I'll still pick the Pats - but it should be a good game.

Crash, you have me wondering if that is why the Pats ran up the score to put a scare into the Colts, maybe others who they will play.

The other reason is he wants his guys used to playing with intensity all game long, as opposed to working hard for one half and then kicking back.
