“First time in a while the Pats have been roundly and soundly beat. The other Pats losses were really close, one key play changed and it would have gone the other way. This one was a decisive thumping. Brees looked great and he caught the Pat's defense on some big plays, but it was Brady's inability to deal with New Orleans' defense that was key.

“The Pats fold again late on the road. Most of their losses have been through not holding onto leads late in the game. Who would have thought a bad boy Bill Pats team would lack the killer instinct late.

Actually, I think the problem is that they are a little thin and very new on defense, and they just don't have it late in the game.

Another irony - a play off spot is still theirs to lose. They could easily be in with a 9-7 or even an 8-8 record after missing the playoffs at 11-5 last year.
