Actually that's the crazy (stupid?) thing about all this. Other teams are content to video-tape from legal places - press boxes, owners boxes and have people take notes on the side-lines. What possible advantage could be worth the risk for video-taping from the side-lines?? And jeebus cripes - with all the money involved you'd think they'd have some kind of rapid delete capability - or some broadcast capability so they wouldn't be busted. Not sure if its stupidity, arrogance, or what? How could they not worry that they would get caught given the warnings or consider that Mangini and the Jets would set them up for some revenge?

Bottom line: The penalty made sense. Rules are rules and when there is a prominent violation of the rules that is persistant and blatant, you have to come down hard. Given all the forces that push towards parity in the NFL, losing a first round draft choice will hurt. What hurts more is the cloud and a death blow to the aura of being a true class act that the Pats once had.”
