I'm not saying it's bad, I just think some of you should be ashamed of yourselves for taking someone to task for making fun of the handicapped with a picture (that he probably didn't create) and then turning around and making fun of people who ride the short bus.

Secondly, where I live quite a few school districts us short buses (and they are yellow) for purposes other than hauling handicapped kids. They might be for short routes, for private or charter schools with limited enrollment. But they are out there all the time with no indication they are for handicapped kids.

I can't speak to what Buddha Bear had in mind when he started the thread, but I know for certain that a good many people posting on that thread were not posting anything about handicapped kids.”

I tend to laugh at anything (I'm easy like that), I also know that not everyone is like me so I try to be respectful until I know someone...

And I try to see the humor before I take offense... doesn't always happen...

I have a speech impediment, during one New Years party a few years ago a couple of women at the party were doing a Jim Carey style impersonation (complete with lateral lisp) I thought they were making fun of me... I tore them both a new one...

when they explained what they were doing everything was cool... I thought what they were talking about was funny too...

I think it all comes down to motivation, if you are trying to be fun and light fine (you may miss your target) but if you are trying to be cruel then you are a piece of sh*t and are probably int the express lane to hell.

“it may be a "big city" thing, but here short buses are for private schools or for the handicapped... it's pretty much common in California (and some other places I've been)
