“I'm getting the final preps made for my Kings Peak outing next week and I am stumpped as to one last chioce for "gear". What to fill my 500 ml Nalgene bottle with...here are the choices..

1) Chivas Regal
2) Covosier VSOP
3) Captain Morgans Spiced Rum

Suggetions....”

“Maybe I'll just slip a good bottle of wine in my partners sleeping bag compartment when he's not looking....”

“Well, my first suggestion mirrors Fritz's...H2O. However if those 3 are your choices, then I'd go with the Cpt. Morgan's. Just because you can mix it with other things, and it tastes good warmed.”

“I have plenty of GlennFiddich and GlenRonach her et the house, I though I'd use up the last of the Chivas on the trip, save the "good stuff" for around here.

I will have plenty of water, one 1L malgene bpttle, one 100 oz MSR Cloudliner bladder and my Miniworks filter.

What i need help deciding on are the "recreational liquids".

“By all means, if you have the Chivas, it is still good scotch. Don't let a drop go to waste. It would taste even better on the trail.

I still have some Glen Livet to finish off, so I guess it will go on my spring trip when I finish taking rat poison and can drink again.”

Of the Blended varities I do like Chivas a lot. Of course being a Scotch snob, you have to go with the single malts if your a purist......”

Spirit: I am on coumadin, a blood thinner to prevent any more clots, for six months (until March). Coumadin (or its generic warfarin) is the major ingredient in rat poison.

They have to monitor, through regular blood testing, to assure they have the dosage just right. Alcohol would mess things up.”
