Home by January or February
U-reg has posted a note on the other board that Joe Graham, injured critically in a car accident, should be able to go home in January or February without elaborate support.

Joe suffered the same head injury as Colin Fletcher. Colin is able to walk again. Hopefully Joe will too.

The thread is "Light a candle for Joe Graham and Colin Fletcher" on backpacker.com

Quite a few people from this board posted messages of support for Joe over there. I hope we can continue to do so, and maybe soon share some fantastic news.

I know the support I have received from the folks on this board has meant a lot to me. You have all been great. It is like a big happy family, sometimes a bit dysfunctional, but full of love. It is nice that we can share some of it with a young man who is obviously a fighter climbing the steepest mountain he will ever encounter.

Wow......that's tragic. I'll be sure to get over there and send a wish that way.

Thanks for the info Geobeet. I don't go "over there" that often because I like the layout of this place better. It's easier to read threads, and I like being able to see who was last where. "Over there" I don't find it that easy.

Back to the main subject:

My most heartfelt thoughts go out to him and his family. May you have a speedy recovery.

Yep, that's really great the way he's improving... it sounded like a REALLY bad situation when I first heard about it.

His step-dad Michael (u-reg) has been a regular over there for two or three years and is a real nut. G-d help you if you tangle with him on a political thread; he WILL tear you a new one, LOL. I suspected that Joe must be improving when I saw that Michael had posted something on another thread --- for the first time since Spring...

Thankfully it sounds like things are Beginning to return to normal for them, though they still have a long road ahead.

To post a note of encouragagement and support for u-reg and Joe.

Yeah Tilt, politics don't seem to matter much at times.
