OK, We know that the Christmas Season is a little over two months away... What is on your BP christmas list? Hoefully this will get back to those who have BPers in their lives and don't know what to get them...

(Me jumping on Santa's Lap and looking him deeply in those twinkling blue eyes... stammering...I would love to get a coffee ball strainer, Maps of the local trails here in PA, and the new Camelbak 100 oz Un-bottle, and some power bars.... and maybe a red ryder bb gun, but I might shoot my eye out! LOL

OK who is next on Santa's lap?

(Carefully getting on this old guys lap....)

K. Here's the deal: I'd like an Exped downfilled sleeping mat, maybe a new pair of boots, some more socks..the ones with wicking in them..., a lighter cookset, a water filter, and if I don't have it by the 25th of Dec., a Pocket Rocket stove with fuel. Oh, and two of those Buff Headband thingys...the Mali and Salamander Camel patterns. You can get them at REI. Oh yeah.... and I'd like a few more articles of hiking clothing: shirts, pants, shorts, well..... mostly shirts.

K. I think that's all for now. I'll get back to you if I think of more stuff.

(Slowly gets down.....and walks cautiously away.....)

(Carefully returning to his side......) O.K.......Thought of something else.... Would it be possible to start a line of BPing gear that is all ready to GO? No seams to seal, no waterproofing needed, no special bags or anything? I know it's a tall order......but I thought if there was one person in this world that could do such a thing......

That it'd be you.

I want boots that don't need to be broken in, a pack that only weighs a pound and holds all my gear, raingear that doesn't double as a portable sauna, and most of all...

DON'T LET 'EM BUILD THAT NEW ROAD IN THE SMOKIES!!!!

Somebody say... uisge??

Ooooooooooooooh... Immanuel Kant was a real pissant
Who was very rarely stable.
Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy beggar
Who could think you under the table.
David Hume could out-consume
Schopenhauer and Hegel,
And Wittgenstein was a beery swine
Who was just as schloshed as Schlegel.
There's nothing Nietzsche couldn't teach ya
'Bout the raising of the wrist.

John Stuart Mill, of his own free will,
On half a pint of shandy was particularly ill.
Plato, they say, could stick it away
Half a crate of whiskey every day.
Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle,
Hobbes was fond of his dram,
And Rene Descartes was a drunken fart:
"I drink, therefore I am"
Yes, Socrates, himself, is particularly missed;
A... lovely-little-thinker-but-a-bugger-when-he's-pissed!
