Crikey, 'E's Back Myte! “The li'l blighter posted this on the other side. I guess that tells us how much we rate over here: ***** OK.......... Miss ya folks lots and am glad to see that you didn't 4get about me....HeHe.. Sorry to start this off rather corny, Ive been so bloody busy, I havent been near a computer and gettin back with the flow of things here along with gettin to know some very special people..... Pull out of Jfk 11 am 2 Mondays ago and chilled out on the plane listening to AC\DC for 4 hrs and drinkin some flat Pepsi before I fell out to sleep. Whoke up by my isle mate2 hrs later and his sweaty arm reaching over to point out the window to mountains peakin over the clouds in the west. I decided not to rip his arm out and or curse him out for wakin me up in the middle of a dream about some random Godzilla movie, I gave a look at the horizon and kept my eyes fixed hoping to keep my mind off this blokes sweat and about 5 mins later Rainier summit came into view. I was so totally stoked that my heart rate began to climb as ironically the planes landing gear begain to open and my beloved mistress was lookin better and better as we droped to about 14 thousand feet being about even with the summit and 15 mins to Seatac airport.. Walklin down the ramp and goin outside armed with 2 ice axes, a pair of razor sharp crampons, food for 7 days, goosedown jacket, gortex pants and upper shell (of course), a pair of 4 lb koflach boots and and a few other toys for mountain play in was at the base of the mountain in 2 hrs.. Feel'in still razzled by the ride and the lack of decent sleep, i settled on the inn and met with the guides the id be workin with on this trip, and hr later briefing was over and in was packing for the testing in the morning and heading out to sleep. 5am....climb to camp Muir and work with 9 students and 4 guides... After a totally exhausting day (and my 31st b-day) we were asleep and snoring by 8 pm....next day same thing.....the same thing for 5 days, along with lectures and demonstrations that we all took part in while I was being evaluated towards my position as a potential guide. Every minute was spent thinking about the next and always evaluating the weather and testing the snow for avalanche potential..It was a great thing to be part of it and be able to learn so much those days on the mountain, from the headaches to the sleepless nights, and to the beauty of being up on the summit 3 times during those 5 days... Well, things turned out great and got my official mountain guide credentials along with a cool set of pictures that I have yet to develope and cant wait to share them..... I better get going now and and off to doin a few things.......talk to ya soon...... Cheers.... ....Zay” 7:20:13 PM 10/10/02 Thanks Geo... “Actually, Maple just told me he's interested in going to the Cats with us next weekend... He'll be posting here soon enough, I think?” 9:39:12 PM 10/10/02 “spoke to him and yes he will be going with us. I cant wait to hear all about his trip! he will be meeting us in Manhattan. so we can take off from here.” 8:20:09 AM 10/11/02 Crikey “Give the little blighter all me best, mytes. 'E's a tough little package 'e is. If the croc hunter took Gore Tex along, all the snakes'd run off.” 9:32:43 AM 10/11/02 “Geo, Im so sorry your going to miss this trip. We promise to plan one for next summer so you can make it.” 9:39:22 AM 10/11/02 “Yeah, somebody will have to sing a lullaby to Gore Tex since I won't be there to lull him into sleep with the sound of ocean waves breaking on the shore. Poor blighter will probably cry his heart out, I know!” 9:41:28 AM 10/11/02
