“Scary, yes. Flash floods are scary as hell (or so I've heard, I've never witnessed one myself) But yeah, you're lucky the water didn't rise quicker and higher than it did. 6 feet is a decent barrier, I'd be worried anywhere near a drainage during a thunderstorm in canyon country!
