As you all know by now, my husband and myself have taken over our sons troop. But the problem is that about half the children have moved on to Boy Scouts or have moved to FL. So we are down to only 8 boys. I love it that small. The problem is it means less funds coming into the troop. We have alot of speakers like The Bug Guy, The LadyBug Woman, The Bat Walk, the Hike Through The woods with a Guide to find Eagles and Hawks These are the activities that we plan with he boys. They love the speakers.
Here is what im asking.

There is a program that will send you $1.00 for every used Inkjet Cartrige that you mail back to them. They are called AAA Enviromental inc.
I have signed up for the program. When you are finished with the cartridge you place it in a bag they supply and drop it in the mail.
Thats it.

what im asking is if I send you a couple of these bags (they have bar codes on them so they know where they came from) would you be willing to help my troop?

its promoting recycling and always a good thing!
they send a check out once a month and they will be writing the check out to
CSOA in care of Nora Septoff
and deposited into a account we set up just for the cubs scouts.
if you want any futher info just ask and i'll give you everything I have!

thanks guys!!

I owe you all one

When you said you'd give us everything you have, does that include the new kayak you're going to buy, your Pepsi can stove, and that fetching Paddington Bear hat you wore on the Water Gap trip?

Wow. that's the second time this week I've heard of someone saying cash was no good anymore- A friend of mine went to an appliance store to get a real good deal on a TV, but they would not take the big wad of cash he had with him- The deal was only good if you used their credit. Dammit Maple, what about a check?
Corporal Nasty

No to cash!
(wow did I just say that? that makes ya question if im a woman LOL)

but if you have any extra gear (other then what you promised me!! LOL) then that I would take. i want to take then on a big trip at the end of next spring.
if we dont use it then i will return it back to you if you want!

geobeet, where is that place your son went to?

Jeez- So we're reverting back to a bartering society now, where money is worthless, and even charities will only accept gear as a donation- Sounds cool to me though. Sorry, I don't have any more extra gear at the moment, when the big trip comes up though, see me about borrowing some stuff.

How 'bout popcorn sales?
I just rec'd delivery on the popcorn I bought from our local pack. I know they make a lot of $$, as did my pack whenever I was a cubmaster. The popcorn is actually pretty good on top of it!!

11/26/02

Cubs or scouts?
Maple I'm confused... thread title is Cub Scouts, but I see references to Troop? "if you return all 10 bags each, our troop will recv. $1.00 for each bag.
so if all of you return them, then we will get $50.00"

A GREAT fundraiser for older boys (scouts) is to re-cycle Xmas trees. We make between $3,500- $4,000 every year. Need to start planning now though.

we work at the prospect park and thats where the boys help out with the Christmas trees. they drive in the trucks and help collect all the trees and the best part is they Volunteer their time doing it. they love to do this!!
The park turns it into Mulch for the playground. It brings the Cubs and the community togther.
