“I hurt my knee at work and for the past week it's been killing me. Pain, pressure and lack of movement, I believe, puts me on Injured Reserve List. 8(”

A week and three days til I molt. Then I have to learn to walk again.”

“Yes, many doctors, emts, etc. use a type of superglue on cuts. I have, and it really does work. Kept a cut on my palm closed better than a bandage ever would have. Healed up with no scar at all.”

“tilt, i think it's actually pretty close to the same thing. when we were hikin in WY this summer, i cut the dogcrap outta ma thumb & bandaids weren't gonna stop the bleeding so i had brought a tube of superglue for that purpose & it worked pretty well.”

“I've heard ducttape works, too.

Some guy was cutting rope on a climbing expedition and whacked his hand instead. He said he didn't have time to do anything else at the moment so he slapped ducttape on it, then forgot about it for two or three weeks.

He was taking a shower after he got back to civilization, saw the tape and remembered the cut. He took off the tape and the gash underneath had completely healed.

That's right G-Beet! They can put superglue (the runny kind) into a syringe and shoot it directly into the broken bone... but you have to hold it Just Right for about a minute.

I had the stiches removed and got a clean bill of health from the doctor. But I still have that damn banana still in my finger....”

“Went back to the doc Friday for xray. In spite of TWO Lithotripsies (spelling?), I STILL have a kidney stone fragment. Doc said it was the same size as my stent and with the stent removed the fragment should pass on it's on.
I was awake for the stent removal (Big Mistake)... I now know how women feel at the docs, up in those stirrups. Very unpleasant.
It's now Monday afternoon and the stone sends sharp pains to let me know it's still there.
I'm very ready to get this thing OUT OF MY BODY!”

Just remember, urethea passing it or not. If you don't pass it urine pain, but once you pass it you'll feel bladder.

“After 352 days on IR (depending on how you count it) I have been designated for a rehab assignment. The chiro said I could start running again in a week - so that'll be, uh, 359 days since my ankle sprain. It will have been 274 days since my hip problem first appeared and 131 days since I last ran a step. Also, 122 days since I gave up on MD's to figure out the problem (much less treat it), after 6 of them did no more than shrug their shoulders and admit that they had no idea what the problem was. Film at 11.”

I have a femur(sp?) in my left leg.”

“Just got back from a trip to the docs to get blood drawn. They can't do it today because the doc is on vaca and they can't draw blood unless the doc's there. Of course, last Tuesday we discussed my coming on Tuesdays to get blood drawn. I guess they couldn't have told me then the doc would be on vaca. So I have to go tomorrow morning.

And it's really strange. A lab tech had been coming to my place without a doc to draw blood, but they need to have the doc at the office when they do it.

Plus, it was free when the lab tech came out to my home to draw blood, but I have to pay the copay when I travel to the doc's office to do it.

“When my wife was recovering from her bout with MS a couple years ago, she need a cane for a while. When people at work asked why she stopped using the cane, she said she was afraid she was gonna start "whacking" some of them. They all backed off!

Sorry you had such a frustrating experience, but find that even though I don't limp, yet, a lot of people on the street are just rude. I'm thinking about buying some football shoulder pads, so when people don't make room for me on the sidewalk they'll at least remember me! ;-}”

“I don't do my Christmas shopping in the malls because I feel like I'm in a hockey game. But there's no ref to give them two minutes for boarding or tripping. I swear people get uglier and uglier as time passes by.

Thank God for all the good people who went out of their way to be helpful during this period. Not only would I not have been able to cope, but my faith in humans would be entirely shot.

Yes Pennsy, I listed my small take on the EMS Club Day thread. Not much. It came a weekend before I got my back pay. Not very considerate of them.

“I feel for you Geo, my wife went through the same experience after her hip replacement. Amazing how rude and pushy people can be. I used to run interference for her in crowded places.”
