I had it done about 5 yrs ago. You will feel sooooo much better in a few weeks. Healing will go fast without the incision.”

I felt great very soon after my kidney stones and I did overdo it to soon! I paid for it! Ouch!

What's with all you youngish women (30s, 40s) getting this done? I thought most were in their 60s before you had this done.”

“I'll probably stay here for a few days - you know how family is...mine wants to take care of me and my nephews are quite excited to have auntie "living" with them. We have a nice big puzzle shaped like a bear to put together. And it will be hard once I get home to NOT DO.

The worst part is that I can't take my grandkids for awhile. They're too young to understand, and I will miss them terribly! :(

Stomper supposedly you have to have a problem and have exhausted all options before surgery. Unfortunately for most women this means years of living with problems, which are NOT FUN. However I was quite surprised to hear my roommate's story. She said she called her doc, he said she had two choices - live with it or surgery - she chose surgery. He scheduled it (no tests) she had an incision. She didn't even know that she might not need an incision, and couldn't even say why she had the surgery. Just that her doctor offered it and who wouldn't want it done? I thought that was very odd. It was offered to me 4 years ago and after much research I opted not to.”

My sister is your age, and had a hyster on an emergency basis in Venezuela last year. This after years and years of problems (while living in MAINE) SHe is thrilled.

She used to live in Harpswell, and now is on a boat in the Carribbean (actually in VZ rightnow (again).

thanks lee, I am trying to avoid post surgery problems so I'm following orders. I go for a walk every day but nothing strenuous. Even though the nurse laughed at my saunter (said it was like other peoples jog) I'm really trying not to overdo it. I know where I've got stitches, and it's the thought of repair that holds me back...ick!
