What do you all think of Knee Gravy? You would still know who I am, right?

Keep the name. Once you injure a knee that requires surgery it is forever wounded.

WHAT! You don't like mayo? What is wrong with you. Mayo makes everything taste better.

Arky - Ya, your right. Guess the name will stay the same.

mayo is just slightly below knee gravy on the Nauseating Chart.

GROSS ME OUT!
If this talk keeps up about knee gravy, I'm gonna propose a counter gross me out name to reflect something about MY surgery. And it won't be pretty!
=D

What is knee gravy anyway, it sounds absolutely horrid. And how do you get it?

Here is another guy for thr reserve list....I am currently recovering from a broken foot. I am slowly jogging again for 15 min. I broke my foot in September during cross country practice. I feel all your pain!

You gotta love it!

My surgery has now been moved off until January! I cannot tell you how upset I am. I cannot take off time in December because it is a busy month. I understand that, but I am in pain. Plus, the boss got his vacation approved before this little rule of no time is to be taken off in December. He is out from the 9th to the 19th.

Must be nice! Now I doubt I will make the Savage Gulf trip.

I need a drink!

OK, things are all better now. Surgery now moved to the 18th of December.

Where is that drink?

WK - I had my right knee scoped about 6 yrs ago for torn cartilage . . . and was back on the trail (HNF) in 4 weeks. They "blow up" your knee to perform that operation so it does take time for it to "tighten" back up. BTW, I still have pics of the before & after shots taken during the proceedure. Want me to send them to ya? lol!

Twiggy - glad to hear your doing well!

I am reporting to this thread...
after puking my breakfast and feeling like crap these past 2 weeks, I will finally admit to myself that I am not well. I don't know what I have, but I am not enjoying it...ringing ears, phlem in the chest and snot like a waterfall. I'm dizzy and was just forced to run to the BR to puke. lovely monday morning. I would like to take the rest of the day off and go back to bed, but I have too much to do at work these next 3 days. My goal is to get better by thurs, so that I can go backpacking with the Arkansas clan. sheesh...which TT lovely lady would be willing to come and rub vicks vapo rub on my chest...please, I need help.

I banged the hell out of my knee this weekend. It's swollen, bruised, and stiff, and I have difficulty walking on it.

It happened when I fell when climbing - which is a first for me (falling, not climbing). I was tied up probably too far in the crown and didn't realize the branch I was tied into was hollow. I was free-climbing 10 or so feet below it (meaning the rope was slack), slipped, and fell about 15 or so feet. When I hit the rope after my falling body put tension on it, it snapped the branch I was tied into, took out the one below it, and finally caught on a larger one like I said, about 15 or so feet below the one I was tied into. It was quite a jerk when the fall was stopped, and some of the force translated into lateral motion, and my left knee pounded into the trunk hard. I descended on my friction hitch to the ground and spent the next 30 minutes or so curled up on the ground, scared I had broken my kneecap, but fortunately I was spared that. My buddy was kind enough to carry my gear back to the car, and we called it a day. Now I'll have to replace my rope, carabiners, and harness, dammit. And this probably means the end of the backpacking/climbing season, too. *sigh*

Tom, this was a Saturday afternoon climb just for the fun of it. On a serious weekend, I'd sling a hammock up in the canopy and camp. I did do some occasional weekend-warrior arborist work for a few years - just for friends/family. But it was too dangerous and too difficult, so I quit.

So when I woke up this morning, it was not any better. SO I went and got an exray, Sprained middle finger.
