Did you say.... iodine?

Oh.... your red scarf matches your eyes
You closed your cover before striking
Father had the shipfitter blues
Loving you has made me bananas

Oh, your red scarf matches your eyes
You closed your cover before striking
Father had the shipfitter blues
Loving you has made me bananas

Oh, you burnt your finger that evening
While my back was turned
I asked the waiter for iodine
But I dined all alone

Oh, your red scarf matches your eyes
You closed your cover before striking
Father had the shipfitter blues
Loving you has made me bananas

However bad the cures were, it beat getting the limb hacked off, which was once how things turned out.

hydrogen peroxide makes your skin turn white around the edges of your wound because it is killing tissue. please do not use this stuff. same goes for rubbing alchohol. soap and clean water is all you truly need.

btw, Dermoplast does NOT sting, one of the things my kids love about it.

Tilt, you have a song for everything, LOL!

Hmmm... songs about Bactine, hydrogen peroxide, Neosporin and sulfuric acid... Nope! Total blank.

Way, WAY back when, I heard a song called "Pass the Bactine." Probably in the mid 80s.

THIS SUCKS!!!!!

it is all of trees fault! I swear it is

I waited for two weeks to go outside and start my garden and get the yard looking good. i cleaned in the house all Sat (yes even the ovens and laid paper) so i could have Sunday to myself outside. BUT NOOOOOO

I took trees crate of cd's and carried them downstairs early Sun morning, well I almost made it :(

I fell down the stairs

heehaw baby!!

so i hit my tailbone (that is not funny and if one more person asks if they can kiss it to make it feel better, I will belt them)
and I gave my ankle a good twist.
It looks like a fat persons. you cant see any bone HAHA plus, it is a cool color blue

so i am stuck inside when it is over 80 degrees outside :(

I hear ya Mapes, I did the broken tailbone thing falling down the stairs 5 days before leaving for a weeklong canoe trip. I wore my PFD allright, on my tuckus. A life preserver makes a great cushion. I don't think the water was more than knee deep for 90% of the trip anyways.

I still can't go into a deep kneeling position without my knee making me scream either. Damned home depot cart.

Man mapes, that soooooo sucks! ! ! Cheezes, how much can one girl take?!! Here's a prayer for your buttbone and ankle being sent heavenward ^

Meanwhile, we want to see a sweet picture of your blueberry ankle; ok?

Please tell me how this means you are stuck inside? Is there a law on the books that keeps injured people from appearing outside their homes? We must fight this barbaric law NOW! TTers, we need to unite and start a petition right away; New York cannot be allowed to punish the disabled in this fashion!

YIKES. Not fun. For punishment, you should make tree do all the gardening.

OMGosh Tilt, she sure did! ooooooooooo, let's run and hide before she figures it out!

Hey mapes, i do think a better punishment for tree, would be to bury all of his cd's in the garden. the more he loves it, the deeper it should be buried! better still, under the compost pile; empty the cat litterbox onto it! tee hee, blech!!!!

funny storie to cheer you up
after my daughter was born I wanted to join Weigth Watchers. so i went to a meeting. when I got there, every seat was taken. so I grabbed the only one left that was leaning near the wall. i took it to the front on the class, the only place left to sit. i open and BLAM i fell flat on my big butt. The chari was broken. So trying to be a good sport I stood up and said, "Wow I did not think I was that fat"

*insert crickets noise here*

nothing, not even a laugh. so that was my one and only meeting with WW.

I say SUE!

Pink, stress fractures don't show up until they start healing. Usually after about two to three weeks, unless you get an MRI. You may have broken something and it would be just showig up on film about now. I hope you feel better!

even though injured, i managed to fold several loads of laundry over the last couple of days, do several loads of dishes, and i washed and folded two more laundry loads today. sound like nothing? my laundryroom is a 75 ft walk across the yard and parking lot carrying my stuff. i feel semi-accomplished this afternoon. i've been cleaning up and throwing stuff out all over the apt. trying to clean up what my husband has let go over the last 4 years. egads, what a mess! he is such a packrat! and so is ErinAnne, who has not moved much out. i just hope my knee won't yell at me tomorrow.

Ok, I have entered the list. I had surgery on Friday to get my achillies tendon repaired. I had basically a callous in and around it where it attaches to the heel bone as well as a lump on the bone. They opened it up and took out the bad stuff and cut the bone down. I'll be out for about 3 months. Man this sucks, either I'm looped out from the meds (I don't like that) or massive pain (I don't like that either). Well, I'll be back up soon enough

So I had my first post-op visit today and the good doctor decided not to pull the stiches yet. I am out of the splint and in a walking brace but still not supposed to put weight on it yet. He told me to start moving it back and forth to loosen it up, man does it hurt. Well it is all to make my future hiking and backing more enjoyable.

Thanks all for your well wishes, I truly hope to get to meet and hike with all of you one day.Not actually all of you at one time, in one day but you know what I mean. My wife likes hiking and she kinda likes to camp but has no interest in bping. She has, however had an overwhelming interest in vacationing in "natural wonder" areas so maybe this will be the beginning.

Actually I don't have room now. We were forecasted to flood so my wife had to put the contents of my shop on the deck, she's happy with that. We live in a house on stilts so whan it floods my shop gets soaked. The day after she was done NOAA updated the forecast on the Brasos river and we're not going to flood, she's real happy with that. So no I'm not camping out there, besides it's like 75 at night.

climbing last weekend i jumped down from a ledge where i set my first quickdraw. i was dumb and forgot to bring my stick clip with me. we were done climbing so i climbed up, grabbed my draw, and downclimbed a bit and jumped down... not that far but now my right foot has a localized pain literally in the center of it. i swear if i broke another bone in my foot i am going to be really hacked off... the last time i did this was a 6-month downtime activity. i need to be more careful, esp with my JMT plan this august.
