My elbow hurts so badly from rubbing over the desk all day long. Over the years there has grown a hard bump on my elbow, that hasn't been there before. Now it's even bigger, red and very painfull to touch. I am worried the skin might split and another limb grow out of my elbow.

Sounds like a split or infection under a callus on your elbow. Ouchy. Try using a gentle alpha or beta hydroxy lotion or callus remover, and get an elbow guard or big pad for your desk to protect it from further irritation.

My oldest son Trip'n'Fall earned his name last week in Colorado. He was on the slopes of Winter Park when he crashed on the hard manmade snow. He broke his collar bone but managed to ski down the mountain. The doctor said yesterday that surgery won't be necessay so he should be back in action in a few weeks.

YIKES...sorry to hear about everyone's boo boo's! Hope yall heal soon!

Euro..I had a fatty cyst come up on my arm right below my elbow...it hurt so bad to touch it I had to have it removed. It's amazing how sensitive that area is.

Maple...I'm getting that tennis elbow thing. I've read that it is usually on your dominate arm but mine is on my left and it hurts worse when I hold my arm down too long like walking and then bend it up.

I noticed the elbow thing (and shoulder) after data entering the last budget - and that's my beer arm! I had to switch to the left arm for a while, LOL...

I have a touch of asphalt or macadam elbow from a little two-wheeler spill I took in Northern California a few years ago.

It has gotten a little sensitive lately.

What happened now, Streamweaver? Are you okay?

Lol Tilt, I've been thinking about that boil lately, given the whole MRSA thing going around here like wildfire. Makes me wonder if it was indeed a staph infection.

I do Not like this thread.

It's like a train wreck, but I can't look away.

I did find that short story, though.   It's by Edward Lucas White and the correct spelling is "Lukundoo". It's the first story on the list, a 9-page PDF.

I took my car to the doctor's today. I figure one or two more weeks and we'll both be able to pretend we never got squooshed.

I had to have a Nissan for a rental. I feel so ashamed.

No Hoi they just put a temp cast on until the swelling goes down and then they will put a fiberglass one on. I was able to hike about 3 miles after I broke it so it cant be all that bad.

at least these days they don't use ether for anymore - back about 50 years ago the ether out-gassing from the tonsil removal patients really stunk up the children's ward

lol. Treebait, I'd rather them remove a part of my immune system then have cronic tonsilitis. I have been on strong antibiotic for over a month. Need I say more? lol.

Again, checks are accepted. :) lol.

Continuous antibiotic use not recommended, ether.

Tilt, you might know the answer to this since your mom is an ob/gyn - didn't they used to use ether for women in labor? I wonder if the kids came out stoned?

No tellin'.... I'll ask her.

She does come up with some real humdingers ever now and then.   Like, back in the bad old days before latex, nobody wanted to shake hands with the proctologists,     < G >

I'm a labor and delivery nurse--hate to date myself, but I remember the days when we used IV alcohol to stop labor. (that's a lot of fun) Don't know about ether, but other stuff definitely gets the babies stoned. Or just keeps them so sleepy they forget to breathe.

I am out :(
well I was cleaning out our bedroom yesterday, kinda of a very early spring cleaning. we have this TV that broke and had yet to make it way down stairs. Tree can not help because of his back so I was waiting for twignut to help. but that darn girl is always working. so i took this extremly LARGE TV and tried to bring it down myself.
good news is it is now downstairs.

bad news is I spent a few hours in the ER because I pulled my achilles tendon on my left foot.

I swear I thought it was broken, thats how bad it hurt. it took 45 mins just to get off the floor and get to the couch. i was glad my in law was home to call tree and get me to the ER.

oh well back to bed

Geez Maple I'm so sorry! That'll take some time to recover, I would imagine. I hope it heals well for ya.

At any rate, did they give you any good meds? I'm looking forward to the medication and some much needed sleep...I just hope the stuff they give me this time doesn't make me sick (pain pills don't typically like me much...lol)

Hey sweetpeastu, my son's dentist was just telling me the other day that a tonsilectomy is no big deal anymore. It's all done by lazer, apparently. He told me that when he had his out as a kid he was healing and in pain for more than a week, but a few months ago he had a six year old patient (little girl) who had her tonsils out one day and was in his office smiling and singing the next.

yeah well for the record I aint 6 years old. And the Dr. told me it would be painful and he said the recovery time for me would be a whopping 14 days....so maybe stuff in my town hasn't changed so much. lol. I duno, its gotta be better than never shaking a tonsil infection. This is getting OLD.

MAPLE, you never said if they gave you anything good?

This guy comes highly recommended.

This doctor comes highly recommended by several people I know.

THey have to come out. It feels like my tonsil infection is making a comeback again after 30 THIRTY days of antibiotics.

OUT THEY COME. I'm my OWN second opinion.

but thank you for the concern. I appreciate it. lol.

no that pretty much covers everything (for now anyway)

all brusied up and the body aches for sure. when i was a kid, falling down meant nothing. as an adult OUCH! entire left side of my body hurts :(
because of where i hurt my foot, i find it hard to even prop it up on a pillow. still not able to put pusher on it.
i do have to be the first ones to admit this.

THIS WAS A VERY STUPID THING TO DO.
wth was I thinking? the TV was HUGE HUGE!!

oh well off to bed with the pain pills
