YES please send Oxy... pronto!

Actually, I'm trying to avoid prescription pain meds right now. I figure I can make it better w/ rest and the chiro. I'm already on a mega-dose of antibiotics, I hate taking a bunch of pills. If I do end up w/ pain meds, I'll prolly hold 'em for my first aid kit. :-)

I had some prescription pain meds and put them in my first aid kit but can't remember what the hell they are! They are pink. At the time, I thought I'd never forget what they were. Anyone know what big pink pills are? I wanna say darvoset but still, not sure.

Sprained my lower back!
I'm out for 2-3 weeks!!!
SUCKS!
Pisses me off!
All I was doing was friggin yard work and bent the wrong way while moving something and POP!
Man-o-man it sucks being 40!!!
Doc, says I need to crank up the stomach crunches.
I also had X-ray due to my back bothering me for the last year.
He said my on leg is 1/2 inch longer then the other...
That explains why I been going in circles my whole life!
He gave me a 5mm shoe lift to put inside my boot.
Funny part is I can tell the differance. He Said he is going to increase it gradually over time to 10mm

So I should be ready to go by Ithaca trip!

here's hoping you heal quick snafu.

My hiking is on hold also. I had surgery on both my legs. Yesterday my right leg was numb and I couldn't walk. Today I walked to the back yard! My doctor says that in a week, I can start doing whatever my legs are comfortable doing....even hiking and weight lifting! Anybody want to go backpacking?! ;)

Hey Snafu, I had to have a 12mm lift for my left foot a few years back. Then I went down to 7mm and lo and behold, the lower back pain disappeared. My x-rays showed that I was off by 21mm...in other words, when you drew a straight line from hip to hip, it was off by 21mm. There was no straight line. I have not had a lift for a few years now but go to the chiropractor frequently. That cheap ol' lift was the answer. Now, if I could just find something to lift the pain out of the knees, I'd be all set.

i think i'm going to die!!! well maybe not, but i cut myself on Monday night and i think i should have gotten stitches, except i'm afraid of the doctor. i stabbed myself, and it still hasn't closed up. yummy! if it starts oozing pus, i'll post pics, i promise.

Even though I'm an extremely disturbed individual
I'd clean it out regularly with alcohol or hydrogen peroxide, close it with some butterfly strips, and wrap it in gauze to keep stuff out of it.

When was your last tetanus booster?
bitpusher

Don't use Hydrogen Pyroxide on a deep wound, it kills the tissues quickly.

oops, i guess i'll stop the peroxide then! i've been using those strips that are supposed to keep it together...i just took them off now for the first time, but i put some more back on when i saw it wasn't closed up. i wasn't even bleeding, and i felt like passing out just looking at it, LOL! i hate to think what i'd be like if i ever REALLY got hurt ;-)

Any red streaks going up your arm?

Again, last tetanus booster?
bitpusher
2:09:55 PM
6/18/04

tetanus, schmetanus. probably for college? no red streaks, and it's only a little swollen. i think it'll be okay, if it ever just closes up! i'm such an idiot...too bad i hate going to the doctor so much or i would've just gotten stitches.

you're insane, Bobo.

i just looked up tetanus on webmd.com, and it says if i've had a tetanus shot w/in the past 10 years, then i'm okay. is tetanus one of the shots you have to have when you go to college?
lyra
2:54:42 PM
6/18/04

oh yeah, i remember...tetanus is the one you have to go back a couple times for, to get the full round of shots. i've definitely had that within the past 10 years.
lyra
2:55:59 PM
6/18/04

If you got a battery of shots before college, tetanus was probably one of them.

Did you get them at your family doctor's? You might have to actually go there, but they'll know.
bitpusher
2:56:14 PM
6/18/04

tetanus is recommended once every ten years...UNLESS...you get a nasty dirty wound. Then, if it's been over 3 years since your last one, chances are you'll get another one.

It's not a series of shots lyra...that sounds more like the hepatitis B series
