“i had a friend who's dad used to be a city cop, and was a border patrol agent at the time. I called him a cop New years eve back in middle school, and all $h!t hit the fan. He was not happy. I was old enough to tell him to chill out and explain what was wrong. He stated that it is a derogatory term.
I told him I though it stood for Constable on Patrol. I forget why he said it was bad...something about PIG, etc etc.
