Living in a small town, court doesn't start until 7:30 pm to ensure the judge has enough time to get home from his real job.

10 minutes to get to court? Good Lord, what was your plan? Park all crooked on the sidewalk in front of the courthouse doors and jump the security check? lol

I'm reminded of the courhouse scene at the end of The Blues Brothers.

Actually neither being correct.
The old meaning of the word was to "catch" in a non-approved way, used for theft.
A cop was the act of catching a thief, and a Cop'per was the person who did the catching of the thief.

Cop as a term is seldom used now, except where a guy can "Cop a feel".
I think the American term is "Grope".

"Better slow down.... There's a grope car"   LOL

I dunno. How do you deal with an injured animal, Maple? You know how they'll lash out at anyone, even their owners if they are seriously messed up.... perhaps moreso if they've sustained a head injury. Throw a towel over their head to neutralize them?

I've seen where covering their eyes can calm them down, too. So there could be a double benefit.

Yet another reason to always bring a towel!

not sure what your talking about tilt, but yes. when dealing with any injured animal can be the worst kind and scary kind. covering their eyes is a great thing to do to calm them down. but still be careful!
I got bite by a cat with a broken back. I had no clue the cat could still reach out that far. glad I had heavy duty gloves on..poor thing :(

LOL...then there is the old story about the Georgia State Patrol officer (I am sure its been retold with other departments) who pulls the lady over one night.

As he comes up to her window she exclaims,"Look I am sorry I am in a hurry listen if you want I will buy 20 tickets to your Policeman's Ball if you let me go."

The trooper without thinking said, "Mam I am a Georgia State Trooper, we don't have Balls."

There was a quiet moment, the trooper closed his ticket book and walked away as the lady lost it laughing. (LOL)

I know the feeling of the whole ticket thing. But I also have seen the other side. Had a really close friend whose wife was a teacher. She worked with mentally challenged students and almost NEVER sped. Very careful driver, but one night on the way home she got in a rush. She hit a wet spot in the road and spun out.

At 32 years old this incredibly beautiful woman left a husband and two children. They never did see the body (I hope). When she hit the tree her car collided so hard her seat was in the rider's side. We spent 20minutes cutting her out and I got to hold her hand as she died on the stretcher.

The really tough part was that I had to go with the Deputy to her house and tell her family she had been killed.

Sadly you do that once or twice and it really gets you. I have made that type of trip more times than I care to count.

DORK refresh my memory...is this the traffic ticket...or the 12 people they found in the basement?

On traffic ticket, offer to take the "defensive Driver's" course.

12 People in the basement...tell the court you were planning on inviting Jeff Dahmer over and then found out he was dead.

My wife had a similar accident. Cyclist, as one with a motor, went around traffic using the left turn lane as the light turned yellow and plowed into her.

She got an $80 fine and 'court supervision' at the muni court. Means didn't go on the record.

Could you translate? The turner went off and you got a ticket. I don't follow. Was there an accident?

I think you're saying you were going to turn left before the light turned red. As it was changing, maybe to yellow, someone hurried through it from the other direciton, you yanked the wheel to avoid getting hit, then maybe turned or didn't, not clear on that and maybe your blinker wasn't on? Am I in the ballpark?

Plead not guilty with right of explanation. Enact the little scenario with the model cars. the judge will tell you you are guilty and would you like to attend driving school. You pay $120 and go to driving school for two nights if you haven't gone in the last 6 mos. (otherwise you probably don't qualify). It's doesn't go on your record. You may or may not see an increase on your insurance (they find out about the accident, regardless of the verdict, and that makes you more of a liability).

At least that's how it works in CA.
