Smokies Trip Nov. 23-26

“I am going to be in the Smokies from Friday night the 22nd to the evening of the 26th. I originally had different dates planned, but these are confirmed and in stone. If you want to join for a day or two or the whole thing just let me know. I'll email the original people that were set for this. I will plot out the trip tonight. I have to make reservations tomorrow. They accept reservations for the campsites 1 month in advance only.”

“that was this past trip...i carried evrything in the world on that one. I have it down to 30lbs. now. without beer and ice. i won't need ice in the smokies as long as i am camped near water. so, i can bring more beer.”

Savage Gulf and Fiery Gizzard are very close to Pelham.”

“i dont think ill be able to get to the th til sat morning. what are your plans? can i hike in to your camp early or are you gonna be there early fri and too far out?”

“i will be about 2 and half to 3 miles in on friday night. park at cosby area and hike up the low gap trail and meet me at cosby knob shelter early saturday morning”

“I can join y'all Friday and Saturday, then hike out Sunday - if there's enough room? Did you already reserve the shelter and site?”

“ductape can't get there until saturday morning....I'm going to be staying with some people that "hopefully have it reserved for friday night". I am going to be talking with them in about an hour and a half. Hopefully there should be room. How many people are going to hike with you?.the other campsites shouldn't be a problem...we can take up to 12 i believe”

“If there isn't room, I can find another spot for Friday night. I might be hiking in with one other person or two, but most likely one - and I still have to talk with her so it is not definite.”

“i just spoke with the person that is getting that shelter..she is calling now and is going to call me back in a minute.”

“okay i got reservations for cosby knob and the other campsites....so, we are good to go...friday night we will be camping with some other folks from nashville and then they will be going one way and we will be going another.

this will be a great trip..the colors should be great that week”

“we can parkat cataloochee or cosby campground....when it gets close let's figure that out. what i may do is try to park my car at cataloochee and get a ride to cosby CG and start there...we will be staying at campsite 37 saturday night and you can hike out from there 5 miles”
