OK, I Admit...I'm Jealous
I just got done posting this on another thread...

I Want One... But Do I Need One
"The only thing I need a 5000cuin pack is for winter camping. Looking at my Excel spreadsheat of winter pack items and weight, I don't think I could get my winter packweight down enough to make for a comfortable pack. However, replacing my Terraplane-X would shave 4-5lbs off my packweight. But then there's still all the winter clothing I don, and my winter boots on my feet which make for almost 50lbs (pack, food, doned clothing, boots, etc). So would another 4-5lbs make a difference to me when I finally get to camp? Would I be able to feel how much more energy I have by not having those extra 4-5lbs? Seems almost negligable...I truely have to wonder!?!?"

Thanks Mike But No Thanks.
I have 1 of just about every size pack and I don't feel I need another one. Anyways, regarding backpacking, with a Gregory Reality and a Dana Terraplane-X, can I really do any better...except by going lighter?

So Birch, did you get any additional options?

Buddur, I got (or will be getting) a few options, platy bladder holder, mesh pocket out back, top flap pocket, heavy duty fabric, one hipbelt pocket, integral rain cover... a grand total of 48.15 ounces and $237 (when/if I order).Total volume will top out at 4600cui but can be cinched down to fit a lighter load. The pack can haul 45lbs.

Sass knows and she may get one also...

I am very interested in this pack as well. See my "Pack Questions" post. Noone else has. Anywho, looks great....I am REALLY tempted, but cautiously optimistic as I have the neck pain issue. Check out the McHale ultralight (lightweight would be more accurate) series at Mchalepacks.com. Seems like more pack - but more weight - and MUCH more cost. Maybe I'll stick with the Shasta after all.

Walkindude, I saw it first and frankly, Ladies get to go first! I think all you guys ought to let Birch know he should be buying his wife a new pack...as hers is older than his.

I would go with: green color, mesh pocket, elastic strap thingy, pack cover, heavy duty fabric and "Sassafras" embroidered on it.

I really feel cheated. My pack is older by YEARS and all I ever get are his stinky ol' cast-offs. Forget flowers, I want a new pack!! ;)

OK, this is a hard one but you have no choice...

Withdraw bedroom privledges until you see a brown van delivering an Osprey or McHale pack with "her's" embroidered on it.

Naw, I don't want the Osprey or Mchale, (those are too dern expensive!)...I want The P2!!! I really did see it first. =)

I'd really hate to have to withdraw bedroom privledges...the kitchen and living room aren't as comfy! ;D

I guess I should really come out truthfully about the old cast-offs bit: I did get a new daypack for Xmas last year, and it is a fine daypack. But, that was the first one in a long time and he's bought 1, 2, 3, 4, 5(!) day and mid sized packs. And I never say a word.

I DEMAND EQUAL PACKS FOR SASS!!!!!

Saw It First???...Sass Has First Dibs!!!
The woman has a point. Not the "I saw it first" thing, but "you've got a greater quantity of newer packs than I" point. And it better say "My Dearest Sass".

Whoa Nelly!!!!

Lets clear the record here...Yes I have too many packs. I have addiction issues that I am receiving counseling for. I have admitted my problem and am working towards recovery LOL.

In all fairness, Sass has had her share of new gear this year. Just yesterday it was another pair of hiking pants from the Columbia Outlet. Plus a new down bag, pocket knife Titanium cookset, Sierra Designs windbloc fleece, and she is married to me. I am a fine piece of gear no doubt.

When the order is placed it will be for 2 packs.

Now That The Cards Are On The Table...
Well now, I think someone forgot to mention all her new gear she got recently. Now that the facts are know, I believe both of you deserve the packs you want.

SO LET THE ORDERING BEGIN.
