Not to discourage anyone from going back next weekend but I seem to recall someone picking up the "fire".

Wasn't me. I sure wouldn't want to hike all that way and not find them. Not much else to see up there, just trees, rocks and a little water! :)

I enjoyed everyones pictures. I hope to get mine posted over the weekend.

Now let me ask, is there any question now! Of who Jeremiah Johnson is? I think the evidence has be put forth in such a enthusiastic way. I am sure you who have not seen it are currently trying to find the DVD. LOL

I did not see the "campfire" candles before we left, they must have been hidden behind the big rock, because I took one last look around the obvious places, and it looked clean.

Thanks to all who went on the trip, it was great. I have always wanted to snow camp. Great photo's Snow Nymph, Wind Walker, and wingding. And great photo's and wonderful reading for the trip report WLD, didn't know the mac&cheese meant that much to you.

Well, OliveOyl
But did you see Jeremiah Johnson yet. The candles we can retrieve. I know where they are. But the question is....Where is Del Que when Jeremiah first finds him?

WLD - Wasn't Del Que buried up to his neck?

Jeremiah Johnson is one of my favorite movies...great scenery and you were trying to figure him out.

Next trivia question: Who was the person JJ met that would later turn out to be very famous?

I loved listening to the males bond over their favorite movies. I guess I will have to rent JJ now in hopes of a peek into the male mind (I may not want to go there but I will be brave).

Just picked up my pictures this evening. I'll scan them at work tomorrow and hopefully post them by Friday.

Maybe even rent Jeremiah Johnson this weekend...

OliveOyl sneaks into TT without introducing herself? At least we know she is real and not a troll. ;D

Looking forward to your photos and journal entry, Mike.

I really enjoyed everyone's photos and captions. And a quality group of people there, you can tell from the body language in the pics.

There's a downside to short trips. You can only get to know new friends with limited depth. You have to do these trips again and again with the same folks to get substantial mileage.

Looks like I missed out, but I'm sure it won't be the last time given there are two little ones who need their dad.

Hoping to get out this weekend, maybe JT.

Thanks for the great trip report, Mike!! I'm going to have to learn how to do cool trip reports like that.

I hope everyone had a good week. It is always hard to come back to work after such a good time.

Again, did anyone pick up the candles? I would rather do another trail this weekend, but will go back for those candles unless someone tells me they picked them up.

Good going on the journal, Mike. I really enjoyed following along as with the everyone's photos as well. Makes you wish you were there.

There's a peace in them there hills. And what better thing is there in life than to love and inspire others?

Peace, dude.

Yeah, that happens sometimes.

He's also trying to keep me from going to JTree tomorrow. Sometimes it's the other way around though. We had it out earlier tonight and tekdude prevailed.

Adios muchachos.

The whole thing is pretty tentative because I've got to figure out a way to get that camera. Check out the development notes.

Finally got my pictures back from the hike to Dingleberry Lake. I didn't take a digital camera, so it took longer.

Looks like a great time was had by all! I'm sure there's a LOT more snow there now from the recent storm. Snowline here is around 7500-8000 ft. We recieved a 11 inches of rain in the Grant Grove area. Time to tune the skiis!

Nice pics Phil.

Didjfan, with the forecasted temps. I took my tent.
After the Montanapoolza trip I'm very happy with the bivy. Maybe I should have taken the bivy on this trip too. Then I could have watched the snow coming down instead of the morning surprise.

No hiking for me today. I got bogged down with responsibilities. I had to take my son's truck to the garage for repairs, take him to work, and take the cat into the vet to have stitches removed.

I did make it out on Saturday in the rain. I hiked to Mountain Home Flats. It poured the whole time and I was soaked right through my rain gear when I arrived back at the trailhead.

Highly recommended to me on this trip.
