Tyvek Rain Suits

“I went backpacking this weekend and a buddy told me they gave him a tyvek rainsuit when he ran a marathon that is disposable. So, i did some research and found some. I can get 50 pants and jackets for $149. Does anyone have any info on these as far as good bad or whatever?”

“Carrying that many rainsuits is never a good idea, whether they're disposable or not.

“I hear they don't breathe at all. Like being in a plastic bag. Maybe a poncho would work out better. And I'm not sure why it needs to be disposable - I thought it was pretty tough stuff? Many use it as a "permanent" ground cloth. It should last a while.”
