Places like central Africa are important for strategic materials.
If these materials were not important, no one would fight over them.

Congo, for instance, has been a real hot spot for decades because of a material called Tantalum:

Tantalum has been ONE of the reasons that foreigners have used and abused THAT part of Africa for many years.
Today it is hotter than ever.
This stuff is in cell phones and other wireless communication apparatuses.

Colonialism is alive and well.
It is just dressed in native clothes now with none of the old pretense.......racism has gone out of fashion, don't you know.

Instead of wasting lives and treasure on military domination as in the past, the capital interests simply buy the natives and get them to fight each other.

Like it or not, we are all involved in the exploitation of people in these places.
We share the benefits while the natives get buggered.
