I'm back at school this semester. I have classes Monday and Wednesday too. Another year and I'm done. I can't wait because it's really become a strain on my time and budget.

Physics.

And a couple of others, but physics looks like it has the potential to keep me off the trail on some weekends.

Hey Pepsi good to see you posting. I loved physics, that was some really cool stuff. And I got some good grades in it. I was always good at math.

I LOVE my classes. LOVE them. I'm so excited to be involved with both - I get giddy just thinking about it! :)

My science methods class was selected by the University (we're the one and only) to recieve laptop computers for the semester as part of a grant to integrate technology into learning. Yippee! We're gonna use the laptops and cool software during our experiments, keep track of grades, presentations, and all that good stuff! How cool is taht???

Finally, I'm enjoying Wayne State University. :))

Anyone here ever have to endure the agonies of mineralogy? This class is killing my GPA!! Hours and hours with the hand samples and miccroscope and still it's a struggle!

Alright, enough pouting.

Paleo and Historical Geo are awesome.

How's evryone else fairing this fine semester?

I think you should study geology. LOL! Come join me and the rocks!!!

Seriously though, I hope you find what you're looking for whether it be working with animals in some capacity (which I know you'd absolutely love) or translating in sign language. Good luck lady - you can do it!

Hey, the church I used to attend had a sign language program. They taught it for FREE. If you can handle hanging with a buncha church goers you should do some research and see if any in your area teach it.

I am thinking of going back in the fall to work on a Masters Degree.

If I can only get them to waive my organic chemistry deficiency (3 semester hours).

Lumberzac...it's true. We are a strange but wonderful bunch. LOL Everytime I go out into the field these days I come back with loads of fossils, sediment, rocks, minerals...I've informed my roomies that I'm putting a bookcase in the living room to hold all my samples. What a dork!

Anyway, I'm bummed. I just found out I got a B in my mineralogy class. Happy to have passed...it was the hardest, most inane class I've ever had to take. However, my GPA just went for a nose dive. So long 4.0.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Less than a year after you graduate, no one will really care what grade you got in such-a-such class. It's more important that you learned something rather than got a good grade.

the only time your GPA will matter will be getting that first job after college since they don't have anything else to judge you on. After that you will be judge on what you did in your last jobs and no one will ask for your GPA again

Dayhiker -

I had tipped my boss off about a year ago when she asked me where I saw myself in 5 years. I answered "not here". So, it wasn't a big shock to her when I told her in my performance review in April that I was leaving in August/September.

Tango, I'm relocating within Michigan. I'm getting married next year and moving about 2 hrs. away, where my fiance is now. :)

Good luck to you, SG!

My "older adult" schooling will be over in no time... I start my student teaching on August 22 and will graduate in December. I will be 32 years old when I officially obtain my Bachelor's Degree. Better late than never, I guess.

I was forced to become one in a former job. Let it lapse after I changed jobs. If you want to do it for money, you need to have good exposure doing something else, first. You won't become rich charging $5 to notarize divorce papers.
