Learn the prefixes and suffixes. With that, you can pretty much figure everything out.

Way to go, Mapes!

I have to find out what I need to do about taking a class or two this fall. Ug. I can't get any pay bump until I finish the whole thing. My school district won't pay for masters credits earned before a teaching certificate, so I'm SOL.

smiley girl - What a bummer!

Well, we are getting a 10% pay cut from furloughs to help balance the budget in the California State University System.

That stinks, Phil. I have a good number of friends that have been furloughed as a result of that. One of my friends at the Office of Planning and Management will likely lose her job as the Egger will dissolving that department. Tough economic times in the ole CA.

I have got to tell ya... There are times when I wish I could go back and do school all over except with the focus and attention I have now rather that what I was working with as a scatter brained dork in my early 20s. I would have gotten so much more out of school! Youth is wasted on the young. I am really impressed and more than a little jealous of anyone who gets to go back.

Then again I would prolly not had near as much fun!

1 semester, down 5 to go!

got up this morning to finish writing the second half of an 8-page report, proofed and printed it 10 minutes before class, went to class for an hour, and now I AM DONE with homework, quizzes, reports, exams, and projects until january 12th!

WOOT!

frak!

i got an 89.65 for one of my courses, which means i missed an A- by .35%

the course syllabus stated 89 is a B+, 90 is an A-

as far as im concerned, 89.65 is closer to 90 than to 89, but whatever

I guess an in is as good as a mile for the B grade. Sorry dude.

If a student gets 89.8 or 89.9 I usually bump them up automatically. Anything lower than that and I look to see if they missed anything. If they got an 89.5-89.7 and I know they worked hard, did all their work and had good attendance, I may bump them up.

I missed an A once by one point out of about 400 in grad school (no plus or minus grading system) and it really pissed me off. But he was getting even at me for skipping a conference to fly home for my buddies wedding.

disappointed in the b+, but one of those A's probably shouldve been an A-, so i guess it evens out

I currently have a 3.85 due to two Bs. I have two classes to go. Mebbe I can pull a cum laude distinction. We'll see. I'm not sure what the requirements are.
