After being a Boy Scout adult volunteer for almost 10 years and stepping down as Scoutmaster after 5 years I'm finding it very difficult to go back and help again.

Cool. I get to feed the raccoons every night. We've got a family of 3 that comes to clean up what the birds spill out of the feeders during the day.

I can't wait until right around Dec. 1st when I can leave the feeders up all night without having to worry about the bears bothering them. The raccoons can't get to the feeders because of the clever little pulley system with steel cabling that I've devised. Hmmmm...I guess they could get up on the roof, lean over the edge and chew the line from that side. Shhhhhh...don't tell 'em.

I'm anxiously awaiting word on which U. S. Forest Service Passport in Time (PIT)project I'll be working on come June or July... looking for old homesteads south of the Badlands OR (this was the first choice, in July) hunting for previously unfound rock art on the canyon walls of the extreme southwestern Black Hills, near Edgemont.

Still time to apply for those that have an August application deadline,

Hmm, in checking the website, I see the Badlands area one is still open. It's listed under South Dakota.

I HOPE I GOT MY FIRST CHOICE!!! Although the Badlands one would be cool, also.

The Cape Tribulation Tropical Research Station was established as a research station in 1988 during the height of the political controversy over the listing of the region in the Register of World Heritage, to provide a locus for researchers and students to carry out both pure and management oriented research in the region.
