“I just finished making some venison cinnamon/apple sausage that is currently smoking over a glowing bed of hickory coals.Another snack for the morrow...cannot wait! BTW the patches are in! I will pick em up tomorrow.”

“The cool thing I love about events like this is the prep for it. I'll be roasting those little wings in the morning. Maybe I should go shopping now....

“I'll be doing everything last minute! So last minute, in fact, that I'm doing my grocery shopping 3 minutes from the Sass/Birch residence and preparing my food there.

The lake has been frozen since the first day or two of December. We've had ice fishermen out every day for the last week and a half. Loved seeing them out there on days in the mid-40s. No one has died, so I guess it's safe.

We still have snow on the ground. Hope it stays.

BTW, I own about 15 hockey sticks if anyone wants to get a boot hockey gathering going.”
