Revenge at the Catskills - Dec. 7-8

Pennsy - okay, directions to the meeting spot off of Rt. 214:

1. Take I-87 (thruway) north to exit 20.

2. Take Rt. 32 North (you'll see signs right after you get off the thruway).

3. Take Rt. 32A North

4. Take Rt. 23A West

5. After passing through Tannersville (the town with that one road that was hard to find when we did the Thomas Cole-Blackdome-Black Head trip), look to turn left on to Rt. 214 South.

6. Trailhead parking at Devils Tombstone campground. We'll meet here and shuttle to Prediger road.

I went to Campmor today, and bought a balaclava (sp?). Me cheeks will be toasty warm.”

“I got the same thing Artex did. Not the head lice, the balaclava. I also picked up some windproof pants and a couple of warm shirts- And some of those down booties Pennsy looked so comfortable in on the Jersey trip back in Sep. After all that stuff, plus the crampons, I have to go live in the Cats because I can't pay rent anymore.”

“I got some down booties also, got them a few weeks ago. Total Pennsy Hiker influence as well.”

I won't be bringing the monster camera on many more bp'ing trips. The smaller digi is making this trip.

One very important thing about the down booties. Walking around the campsite with snow on the ground gets them wet. They are awful when wet as I found out last weekend.

The solution: either don't walk around the campsite (that sucks), or what I am going to so this weekend. Get some big plastic baggies, duct tape and make some booty booties.

That way I'll stay dry and warm when I walk over to whiz in the spring.”

“I'll give you a dollar if you whiz on Corporal Nasty's hammock.. it'll make some cool pissicles!”

“I have an idea how to cure Pennsy from whizzing in the spring. Take his Bearikade, see, and unscrew the top, and place it in the spring when he's good and drunk. HeHeHe, he won't have a clue til it's too late. (Slaps hand on leg five times while guffawing uproarously)”
