Ms. Paris Hilton is off to jail. that made the NY front page but the senseless death of a child only one year after his dad died in the war made it to the 5th page. i hope she gets all the attention that she craves on the outside, in jail (if you get me meaning)” 7:37:32 AM 5/05/07 “ ![]() Paris Hilton Is Sentenced to 45 Days in Jail mapleleaf - Links would make it easier to find out what you're talking about. I did locate the above two items on the front page of The New York Times.com, but I failed to locate the Page 5 article. I did not make links for the above, the unrelated image and the article's title, since a sign-in is required for most of their stuff. I hope that the image is more than a Red "X." I could run to some of the other NY publications, but really don't care. There is already enough death on the front pages. However, you did make a good point. As always, I appreciate your posting. Enjoy a great weekend.” 9:12:46 AM 5/05/07 “look for the Daily NEws” 9:26:21 AM 5/05/07 “Thanks.” 9:31:19 AM 5/05/07 “Technically that would be, on, correct? last edited: 5/05/07 9:49:20 AM” 9:45:44 AM 5/05/07 “Does the relative importance placed on those two stories strike you as a sign of an impending apocalypse? (I dunno----) Oh --- and did you see the number they did on her on "South Park"? It was a thing of beauty! PS They were originally known as an 'Estate taxes'.... then they were rechristened as "The Death Tax" by Frank Luntz for Republican politicians and their owners. But more recently it is becoming known as "The Paris Hilton Tax". (BOOO-ya!)” 9:57:39 AM 5/05/07 “oops it was on page 10 :( sorry but i did not think you needed or cared about links for PAris Hilton.” 10:23:23 AM 5/05/07 “I found a link to the sad article you mentioned in the NYDaily News.com. But, like I said, there was already enough "death" on the front page. However, there was a link to a nicer article, Talkin' love thy neighbor! It was about a 92-year-old woman plucked from fire by local heroes” 10:32:31 AM 5/05/07 “Is there something wrong with me? I'm INORDINATELY happy that she is off to jail.” 10:46:54 AM 5/05/07 “I don't think the problem is whether we are happy or sad, but that we have to know about it...or care to know about it (even worse).” 11:20:35 AM 5/05/07 “mapleleaf - Sorry, but I do not normally follow the antics of the "poor little princess. Ms. Paris Hilton," nor do I care to do so. So, yes, I could have used a link to help discover what was so upsetting. I imagine she is just another soul trying to find her way through this life. She may be more handicapped than any of us. This makes me think of Marilyn Monroe. Tango, where is your love? Do I suspect your eyes are flooded with green? mtnsteve - You lost me, but I'm sure you're correct.” 11:28:55 AM 5/05/07 “Astounding.” 11:38:57 AM 5/05/07 Nowslimmer “I guess at heart I'm still a cop. I like to see people get what they deserve instead of getting away with things again and again and again and probably escalating, taking NO responsibility for their own actions. And then OF COURSE when someone gets hurt it's all 'I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to blah, blah, blah.'” 11:43:45 AM 5/05/07 “"Does the relative importance placed on those two stories strike you as a sign of an impending apocalypse? (I dunno----)" Yes Tilt, it actually does.” 5:26:08 PM 5/05/07 “I figgered! [VBG]” 5:27:48 PM 5/05/07 “you knew i'd say that [VVBG] p.s what does the thread title have to do with any of this?” 6:49:04 PM 5/05/07 “who knows. i just thought it was a funny thread name for paris :) hey it is cinco de mayo!!!!! nuff said!” 6:50:41 PM 5/05/07 “Transposition Error, LOL” 6:52:07 PM 5/05/07 “why do women go to the bathroom in paris prolly cus that's what she paid them to do...” 7:01:04 PM 5/05/07 “cinco de mayo, a celebration created by americans for mexicans as an excuse to party and get drunk.” 7:11:21 PM 5/05/07 “I think Mr. Slave had a few quotes pertinent to both Paris and Lemmiwinks. (I used to could know how to spell) last edited: 5/05/07 7:21:32 PM” 7:14:56 PM 5/05/07 Paris is going to get out..... “I think it was Michelle Rodriquize(sp) of "Lost" fame that had to go to the same jail for a DUI as Paris. Michelle got 60 days....she got out in 4hrs...because of "overcrowding". Wonder how long before Ms. Hilton will get out........she have more money than Michelle.” 1:19:31 AM 5/06/07 “I remember the good old days when a celebrity would have to, oh I don't know, put out a really good album or movie to get news coverage.” 4:58:50 AM 5/06/07 “ ”6:06:04 AM 5/06/07 “I think this will give new meaning to the phrase "Staying at the Hilton"!” 7:42:55 PM 5/06/07 “LOS ANGELES - In her first public comments since a prison sentence, celebrity heiress and reality TV star Paris Hilton has described her 45-day jail term for a driving related offense as cruel and unwarranted. Visibly shocked and tearful, Hilton was sentenced on Friday to 45 days in jail after a judge ruled she knowingly violated her probation on a previous traffic offense by driving without a valid license. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer rejected the 26-year-old socialite’s defense that she didn’t realize her license was suspended and ordered her to report to a county detention facility on June 5. “I told the truth,” Hilton told photographers waiting outside her Los Angeles home on Saturday night. “I feel that I was treated unfairly and that the sentence is both cruel and unwarranted. I don’t deserve this.” Her lawyer, Howard Weitzman, has said he will appeal “to modify the sentence.” Hilton’s mother Kathy voiced her anger at the ruling over the weekend. “This is pathetic and disgusting, a waste of taxpayers’ money with this nonsense. It is a joke,” she told Hollywood.com. Hilton’s fans began sending messages of support as news of the jail term spread. One fan, Joshua Capone, wrote to California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger asking him to intervene and keep Hilton out of jail. “She provides hope for young people all over the U.S. and the world. She provides beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives,” Capone wrote in a letter to Schwarzenegger posted online on Hilton’s myspace page. Hilton quickly responded on her myspace page. “I just want to thank Joshua so much for his kind words of love and support. God Bless. Love Paris.” At the hearing, the star of the reality TV show “The Simple Life” said she was unaware her driving privileges had been completely suspended when police stopped her for driving without headlights on February 27. They impounded her blue Bentley after discovering she was driving on a suspended license. Hilton said her publicist had told her she was permitted to drive for work-related reasons after the first 30 days of her license suspension late last November, and she relied on that. (Hilton fired him/her) Hilton was sentenced in January to three years probation after pleading no contest -- the equivalent of a guilty plea -- to alcohol-related reckless driving last September.” 9:05:55 PM 5/06/07 “lmao @ nigal Yeah, where did the "good ole days" get off to?” 9:11:07 PM 5/06/07 “Someone needs to tell 'mother Kathy' that her daughter is pathetic and disgusting and jail is probably the best thing for her. Reality TV Squatter.” 9:19:56 PM 5/06/07 “She, of all people, can afford to hire a chaffeur. There's no excuse for her to drive. Famous people should be punished just like the rest of us!” 10:03:54 PM 5/06/07 “I wonder if Paris will ask Martha Stewart to help her decorate her cell. That would be nice.” 1:41:32 AM 5/07/07 “I wonder what would happen if people stopped giving a crap about the Celebs in the world....I mean if Entertainment Tonight found out that Advertisers on their time slot were being boycotted...you know BOBS HOUSE of FURNITURE tells the local affiliate "Don't run my ad during that time"......Would the money talk?” 8:59:39 AM 5/07/07 “her publicist is taking responsibility, saying that it was his fault, that he told her it was ok to drive. my theory is he was sick to death of trying to put lipstick on this pig, and did it on purpose. what better way to knock that spoiled brat down a few pegs AND get out of the worst job ever” 10:58:47 AM 5/07/07 “Just turn it into a reality series. I think this is the best thing to happen in tabloid life in a loooong time. Sweet justice and teach the spoiled brat a lesson.” 11:07:54 AM 5/07/07 “3 year DUI suspension seems fair. Thinking you are above the law and driving while suspended, 45 days is light. And driving without headlights is simply dangerous. I think the 3 year suspension should be extended in addition to her stint inside.” 11:41:41 AM 5/07/07
