“I don't know what kind of cake yet. There's a bakery near my dad's business that has some absolutely fantastic stuff. They have this one cake that's sponge cake with pastry cream and raspberries between the layers, then covered with real chocolate and chocolate shavings and fresh raspberries until the whole thing resembles a fantastic hat. All for $14 too. Their red velvet cake is to die for, and their chocolate cake is wonderful.”

“Well Lyra, I get to bake my own cake! I decided to just opt for a spiced pumpkin quick bread instead of a cake this time, though. It looked really, really good. It's actually a mix from Williams-Sonoma. They were giving out samples of the bread/ cake at the store, and it was incredibly tasty. I also got the recipe for
a browned butter caramel glaze to pour over the top, too. Yummers. When I make a cake from a mix, I tend to go with W-S mixes. They're darned good. Try their strawberry cake for a real treat. Lots of strawberry chunks in it.”

I don't think I've ever had any WS cakes. Last night I made "Upside-Down Caramelized Apple Cake" from a recipe I found on the Food Network. It's the bomb! And good for you, because it includes fruit. LOL!!”
