Course, there is one more option: you act so obnoxious that she'll (or he'll) be so glad to get away they won't ask for support.

If you are married to a backpacker, the chance of the marriage breaking up is lessened. But if you do screw things up and head to divorce court, yes, the gear is gonna get split up.

So all you married backpacking dudes and dudettes out there need to be nice to your spouse or you will be spending a lot of time like bbinkley at REI.

Yeah, somebody is going to sit down and figure out that a trip to REI is cheaper in the long run!

DOM -

Sorry for your trials and tribulations. My ex and I are good friends, now that we are not married to each other.

Whatever you do, don't stoop to petty crap and back stabbing just to get even, it isn't worth it and you are so above that as a person it's not even funny.

If you have kids involved, learn to communicate well with your ex. I have and it's made the world of difference.

Regarding your quest for a kinky backpacking partner - look no further..if you ain't living on the edge, you're taking up too much space. Woman by birth, Single by choice!! Woo Hoooo!!

Come out and play with the TT gang and leave your bad experinces behind!

Take care!

I really was joking around. I haven't met either DirtyOldMan or Txwoodswoman. I have a great deal of respect for Tex that she can be an EMT. I've thought about training for that myself, but I'm pretty frightened when I imagine what I might have to deal with as an EMT. Maybe in time I can work up the courage. I have a friend who does it for my region and some of her stories are rough. I have cousins who do search and rescue in FL and they have told some horrifying stories of small plane crashes. It takes a special kind of person.

Special people indeed
This is true Lyndy. I could not stand dealing with horrific injuries. I don't mind seeing my own blood, just can't stand the sight of other people's blood.

That was why I got upset when the persecutor tore into Goretex.

Tex is a big girl. I see no reason to arouse her needlessly.
