Red velvet and black forest are tops on my list.

Tonight though, I am making a Cinderella cake for my daughter. Unfortuntately, the first bowl cake I made was too small. The cake is suppose to be her hoop skirt. So now I'm waiting for a huge cake to finish baking. This better work! If not, I'll have dismember barbie to make her fit the first cake. My daughter was mortified when I pondered the possibility. What I won't do for my kids!!

warm cornbread...
dripping with butter...and nice coffee.

A warm sleeping bag, and a cool breeze with a clear blue shy and an endless view would be better, but the cornbread and coffee isn't too bad.

Angelfood with fresh strawberries and good vanilla ice cream, top it all off with chocolate sauce.

I had birthday cake last night. My little brother chose lemon, with lemon filling and lemon frosting. It was good except for the lemon frosting. Too much lemon is not a good thing.

how about some appropriate background music, like ....

Cocktails For Two
Words & Music by Arthur Johnston & Sam Coslow
Recorded by Spike Jones, 1956

(you'll have to imagine the sound effects... for now)

(E7) A6 Dm7-5 A6
In some secluded rendezvous

E7 Edim E7
That overlooks the avenue

Bm7-5 E7
With someone sharing a delightful chat

Bm7-5 E7 A6 Edim E7
Of this and that and cocktails for two.

(E7) A6 Dm7-5 A6
As we enjoy a cigarette

E7 Edim E7
To some exquisite chansonette

Bm7-5 E7
Two hands are sure to slyly meet beneath

Bm7-5 E7 A6 D9 A
A sur-vi-ette with cocktails for two.

Bridge:

A7 Edim E7
My head may go reel - ing,

Dm6 A D9 A
But my heart will be o-be-dient

Cdim Bm7-5 E7 Bm7-5 E7 A Edim E7
With intoxicating kisses for the prin-ci-pal in-gre-dient.

(E7) A6 Dm7-5 A6
Most any afternoon at five

E7 Edim E7
We'll be so glad to be alive

Bm7-5 E7
Then maybe fortune will complete her plan

Bm7-5 E7 A6 D9 A
That all began with cocktails for two.

Although forever after identified by the infamous send-up provided by Jones on his album "Dinner Music for People Who Aren't Very Hungry," the tune was originally written for the 1934 movie "Murder At the Vanities." Over-powered by the grandiose sets, the too-easy-going song sank into oblivion and was largely forgotten for twenty years until Jones and his City Slickers did their version.

SlimFast Cake

That actually sounds like it might taste good.

I've got an old can of SlimFast in the office here, Rich Chocolate Royale. Never could bring myself to drink it. It's a little out of date (Best By May 2001). Probably will still taste OK. ;-)
