Does anyone have one of these? I am thinking about getting the full length Le 2 and half inches thick...it's like 3 pounds

I have the ultralight 3/4 now.

dude, I just got the guidelight - 1-3/4" thick, under 2 lbs., and it worked fine. However, I highly reccomend the reeese witherspoon blow up model for the xtra $10.

I can get one pretty cheap and want something a little thicker for my campchair and also i have a tent now. So, i want something thicker if i am forced to sleep on the ground.

I agree with Buddha. I have the therma rest standard and it's 1 3/4" thick and I have a goog nights sleep every night so far. The one yer looking at might not be needed.

I have the guidelite, and I thought that they were 1 1/2 inches thick. Mine is comfy and I like to add the ridgerest 3/4 in the winter for insulation from cold and something to sit on at trail breaks. Some people might want the much thicker one if they camp where it is hard to find a place that is not rocky.

I'm another fan of the Guidelight. It's comfortable on rocky ground, but not so heavy and bulky that it's a pain to carry.

I have one. I got it from MEC (Canada) - they call it the Orbit, but it comes in a Thermarest package with a Th. label on it. It is a necessity for winter camping. I have not yet needed to use the ¾ length Th. with it, but hope to one day. BTW, the bivy sack or tent floor will stick to the ice underneath even with a VBL in your bag. Happy trails.

I was using a 3/4 Ultralight, but I just bought a 3/4 Guidelight. The Ultralight worked, but that extra 1/2 inch on the Guidelight should help keep me warmer in the winter. I might go back to the Ultralight for short summer trips.

I use a 3/4 Ultralite for tents and a 3/4 Guidelite for wooden shelter floors.
In winter I add a 3/8" full lenght 24" wide coleman closed foam pad (10.5 oz.) to the 3/4 Ultralight.

Thing is...
It's huge to pack. I have a classic alpine expedition pack and I pack it rolled under the pack and in the flap straps, but not all packs have straps that wrap around the bottom and extend far enough. The GD thing looks like a beach air mattress when it's rolled up - but handsome is as handsome does.

do you use a regular pack or one of those Go-lite or similar packs when you do that?
Ewker

I'm using a Kelty Flight (like Snow Nymph uses) the flight has a lighter duty suspension than my Terraplane so the pad actually beefs it up and the pack rides better. The LE takes up a fair amount of space but it's not too bad.

Thanks again to Pathman and the Thermarest he sent. I might have to go to something thicker. Old, tired, creaky bones, ya know?

I found the cold went through it when camped out and it was around 17 degrees.

I see the Thermarest LE sometime in my future... isn't it almost the same as the "big pink thingee," however?? lol Should compare weights, I guess. Sure it LOOKS stupid on the pack, but uncompressed and folded in quarters (across the width not length) it probably springs up to 3" anyway, if nt more

I have a full length LE
It's not 2 1/2 inches thick and it's not 3 lbs. It is extremely comfortable, however. There's nothing on this earth that could convince me to give it up.

It's worth it.

Oh, I'm sorry, you wanted details didn't you? It's between 1 1/2 and 2 inches thick depending on how much you inflate it. Of course, that also determines the firmness. It weighs slightly more than 2 lbs--2 lbs 5 ounces according to Thermarest. I don't own a scale and I haven't weighed it. It also has a full size foam pad inside it which makes for some extremely warm sleeping in the winter.

You have a PC, I hope?

A business edition?? hmmmmmmmmm... never heard of that

Well, I have both 5.5 and 7. They were "presents" ;-)

I tried to "pass along" another such present to a co-worker (it was "replicated," kinda like in Star Trek?? lol). I tried it on my machine at work with Windows XP... wouldn't work. However, it did work on home machine, which is Windows ME. That is a bit baffling to me. There was a little scratch on the PS 7 disk.

Anyhoo... write me if you're interested. I owe you a "present" back. lol

I've got a couple from car camping days in AK. Very comfortable, I'd never carry it backpacking.

The Exped Down Air Mattress is smaller, warmer, more comfy and lighter than that.

you are right, I missed it.

It might be that you had an earlier version on the ME machine and not the XP machine, PS 7 checking for it. Or is it a full version, not upgrade? I'll email you.

I have something...
it isn't what I originally had cause I lost that one during the great sinking, but the new one is lighter and only less thick, maybe a 1/4". I have had no problems on it, and don't expect too. It is a 3/4 and I have a chair kit on it...very nice...would never give it up. Don;t know how much it weighs...don't really care...I;m my own sherpa.

We aren't talking about the same thing
The LE Camprest is not the same as the LE. We have both and the camprest only gets used car camping and canoe camping.

The LE is big but not crazy big and you can backpack with it.

The LE camprest is freaking huge and I would never backpack with it.

Get a LE and you won't go back.

I fidget a lot too, you learn not to roll off of your thermarest after a while. You could add some of those "pad locks/loops" to your bag to keep it from sliding off. I think most Sierra Designs bag have them.
