I've met mtnsteve about 3-4 yrs ago. Great guy! He and Amy introduced me to mountaineering. Did a 3 day avalanche awareness/mountaineering clinic in Lassen with him. Was alot of fun.

Next weekend I'll be at big Basin, but I was planning on something at Shasta the following weekend. Are you nterested in that weekend?...and Steve goes out for 10 days monthly, will he be avail tha weekend?

What do you have planned for Shasta? Water skiiing? Skiing? I might be up for going along. I'll have to check with mtnsteve though.

Just lost my climbing partner
We were suppose to go to Shasta Dec. 5-8, to do some teleskiing ,but she had to bail. I'll have to check with Ken and Teresa, my other climbing friends. If that weekend gets scrapped, maybe we can do some geocaching!

IMHO, Rockman sounds dumb, like you're trying to be some kinda wrastling dude. Or, there is the Rock Hudson thing, coupled with the San Fran area, and you wanna "meat" some of us. Either a great wrastling name or gay porn star name.
Why not something like "The Candyman?" You can sprinkle it with LOVE and make the world go round!

I just remembered where I had heard of the Rockman before. He's a movie character who delivers one of my most favorite lines ever.

Did you ever see "The Point"? It was a feature length animation from the late 70s with a good bit of original music by Harry Nilsson (Think About Your Troubles, and most notably Me and My Arrow).

Oblio (the only person in the Land of Point without a pointy head) is banished to the Pointless Forest where he has a number adventures and runs into more than a few strange characters.

At one point (sorry), he and Arrow dive into a hollow log to escape a giant swarm of bees. The swarm crashes into the log and it goes rolling down the hill and crashes into a huge pile of rocks leaving Oblio & Arrow pretty dazed.

Then they realize it's not a pile of boulders at all --- it's a giant Rock Man, who says (and I quote):

"You boys look mighty shook up. You been goofin' with the bees?"

dating my(our)selves
The Point had to be late 60's IMHO.I can remember not getting to see the movie because I was overseas but I had the vinyl with the story in book form. Didn't make the return trip stateside probably because of weight. A lot of stuff got left I'm sad to say.

I think it was early 70's when I saw it on prime time TV. I was in high school, so 70-73 time frame.

I guess this should all be on the "hippie" thread. I am definately going to The Wherhouse today and order that if they don't have it. Just a great trip down memory lane. Top of my Christmas list is a Yes box set. I'm sure I'll get it.
