Should a TT Death Happen.....

I want to be cremated after my organs are harvested. I don't care where the ashes are spread. I hope there is a party and they listen to "Spirit in the sky" and "Low Rider." Cool songs. I hope TTers will just say that it was nice having me around. I mainly hope it doesn't go down for quite some time.”

“Interesting to see that a lot of people want to be cremated. I don't know what I want. I am part Swedish and part American Indian (small part, but a part that acts bigger than the rest it seems). Both ceremonies are great. Viking burial doen't not make my wife happy and letting my body rot on top of a wooden scaffolding doesn't thrill her either. Making her hike the AT to spread my ashes doen't make any points, so it looks like I'm screwed either way. My wife would like to cremated too. I kinda like the idea of having a grave, someplace that people can look up thier heritage. Don't know, hopefully I don't have to make a decision any time soon....”

“Q - my gramma and uncle were both cremated and their ashes were buried in a cemetery... gravestone and all. So, you could be cremated and have a grave site for people to visit.

Briar - I was recently at a funeral where a bagpipe player played Amazing Grace. Not a dry eye in the place. Prolly one of the most beautiful sounds produced by an instrument is produced by the bagpipes.

Personally, I would like to be cremated. Ashes could be spread anywhere in Michigan.”

“I agree with Walkindude and AmyG. I would rather see death as a celebration of life. Pictures of people and places you went to, cool things you did, etc. I hate funeral homes and I want no funeral, flowers etc. I don't like the idea of being pickled either. My cemetary plot is picked out already, but I'm not sure if I even want to go there, but unless I decide otherwise until then, that's where I'll go.”

“I'd like to be buried in the St. Joseph's cemetary in Monroe, MI with my mom and all four grandparents. It's big so that future generations will be able to visit the whole family.

But, honestly, I won't be there. I always feel that my deceased relatives are close by.

I would like a big church funeral with a pipe organ and good choir.
