TC2 - I support it

“As I read the posts, and glance at the calendar, I see that the event, if it is to happen (And I believe it WILL), needs the support of the people on this site.

Wether you believe in the event or are dead set against it, the clock is ticking....and it is way to late to begin making changes to the venue.....

I didn't help out one bit with the planning or the operation of this event, so I have no right to complain, my choice is simple...go or don't. I choose to attend, and I will make every effort to thank those of you that HAVE worked so hard to see this happen.

Next year, I encourage those of you who have issues with the planning or execution of the event to get involved early on, and provide solutions to the problems you see; but now, at this late date, what we need most is the support of everyone to make it work for THIS year. I am an opinionated sum bit*h who will have my say, but once the decision is made, I will work to support it, regardless of my personal feelings.

“The event is happening. It is going to be great! Everything is just about set and it's a matter of finishing up on a few minor details. It's not a big headache when several people are doing different things to help it be a success. This event is going to be great. The prizes for the winners are very very nice. A couple of the local gear stores will be there as well as the Hennessy Hammock rep and Leki rep and still waiting to hear from a few others. This event will be great this year for as little time we had to prepare for it. Next year, people have a whole year to plan for it.

As far as the b!tchin goes. My theory is this "If your gonna b!tch, HAVE A SOLUTION THAT YOU PERSONALLY ARE GOING TO HELP WITH!, b!tchin with no solution is no good to anyone." If you want something to change then you change it. That means you have to get off your whining little rear and actually do something to make it different.

No, chili, j/k... was fine. I like doing stuff like that... finding the points that need to be clarified and then, hopefully, making the whole thing easily readable and accessible to whomever needs/wants to read it.”

“lol.. I judged chili at parsons crossroads.. I think I personally sampled 35?.. wow.. good stuff.. and surprisingly.. even with the strict CASI rules regarding how chili is produced.. a lot of differences.

“Prosecutor asked Buddha Bear for a large loan. Not to be fooled with, Buddha Bear asked Prosecutor how he would be able to repay the loan.

Prosecutor replied, "I make bets."

Buddha Bear asked, "Bets? What kind of bets?"

Prosecutor said, "Well, for example, I'll bet you $25,000 that your balls are square."

"Ha!" laughed the Buddha Bear, "That's a stupid bet. You can never win that kind of bet!"

Prosecutor said, "So, would you like to take my bet?"

"Sure," said Buddha Bear, "I'll bet $25,000 that my balls are not square!"

Prosecutor then said, "Okay, but since there is a lot of money involved, may I bring Ductape with me tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. as a witness so I can confirm by feel that your balls are square?"

"Sure!" replied the confident Buddha Bear.

That night, the Buddha Bear got very nervous about loosing a bet to Prosecutor and spent a long time in front of a mirror checking his balls, turning from side to side, again and again. He thoroughly checked them out until he was sure that there was absolutely no way his balls were square and that he would win the bet. The next morning, at precisely 10:00 am, Prosecutor and Ductape met up with Buddha Bear. Prosecutor said it was time, and Buddha Bear dropped his pants exposing his big backside to Prosecutor and Ductape as he promised. Prosecutor asked Buddha Bear for the final proof.

"Well, Okay," said Buddha Bear, "It's your bet and you should be absolutely sure." Prosecutor grabbed Buddha Bear and just then, Ductape fainted. Buddha Bear asked Prosecutor, "What the heck's wrong with Ductape?"

"Nothing," Prosecutor answered, "Except I bet Ductape $100,000 that at 10:00 a.m. today, I'd have Buddha Bear by the balls."”

Also, I hiked the O & W Overlook Road. That trail is not too far past the store or Big South Fork's official eastern entrance near Oneida, a left-hand turn. You hike on a former road that sits smack dab in the middle of private property (if it is still the same) It was a nice overlook to the river below.

So, you have the main Tc2 contest at 5 p.m. in the dark? Just curious... do you have lots of lights available? Backpackers can readily deal with the darkness, but spectators unfamiliar with it might think it strange.......

“A lot of folks will start cooking earlier of course.. our plan is to have all the entries ready for judging by 5pm.. Yes, we will need lights.. A lot of us will drag in all sorts of lighting.

One of the reasons we went with 5pm was to allow folks plenty of time to HIKE during the day. There are way too many nice 5-10 mile hikes that I am hoping everyone will take advantage of.
