“guys.... check out the MH batray on sale at STP. It weighs a little more, but is heads and shoulders better than dart. My buddy has a dart, and he has big time condensation problems. I saw Birch and Sass's batray a month ago, and they didn't have any condy problems.

And - it's less than $50, with that deal, it justified buying another tent. Check out the batray thread, links on there.”

“pepperDog, yes I believe that's the tent Aero uses and if I recall, he's pretty happy with it.

BB, isn't a BatRay a tarp? If it's a tarp, versus a tent then their will certainly be less condensation. On the other hand it won't offer the same weather protection. I will certainly check it out though. Thanks.”

I must say, I am prejudiced though, being 6'4", those lil' bivys & 1 man's are like a coffin to me. And, I HATE condesation.”

Unfortunately it weighs a pound more than the Dart and I'm looking at shedding pounds. It does sleep two though which might work better if you're not looking for a solo tent.”

CMB - the version of the "microswift" is still being made by MSR, and cheaper versions by just about everybody else. Check out old photo's of microswift, and you'll see they are everywhere.”

“One thing about the kelty dart is that condensation builds up on the inside of the tent and your sleeping bag soakes it up..There is not enough ventalation on that tent.”

I had a microswift once, used it twice, took it back to Campmor for a one man tent upgrade. I have to agree on the condensation thing. I do a lot of winter camping where I stay in lean-to's so I already have lower rated bags than I need. When I am in areas that don't have them I use a warmer sleeping bag and a 3 season tent. That stays true until it gets around 10 degree and below, then I use a 2 walled 4 season conversion tent Sierra Design Omega CD I think, I'm not sure I've had it for quite some time, It's really nice and big enough for 2 but it does weigh about 7lbs. It's nice for when there are 2 of ya's so one can take the tent and the other can take the poles, that helps keep the weight down to a more reasonable level.”
