maple, do you still want a glider? or anyone else? I decided to give my little 3 month old girl away. I just can't find the time to bond with 8 gliders.

They look like really interesting little buggers, but I can't see getting into something like that right at this moment, ...

Did you say 'Eight'?! You're as bad as Lyra.

Just wondering... how far can they glide? <G>

Cute pets. I read they love climbing on the owner, riding in shirt pockets, but cann't be house trained and poop and pee whenever the urge hits, and have a strong smell from scent glands.

Maple, honey! You can get one of those only if you allow me the same freedom as they have. You see, I have urges too!

From the day hike pix I don't think you'll fit in a shirt pocket, you're a pretty good sized dude. Maple might go for the other stuff...... ;)

okay, okay, okay.....
first: the do pee and all that good stuff on you. Your best bet is to leave them out for a little while so they do there job. Most likley it will take a while for them to do it again.

second: only male has a little strong scent. The female does not smell. I have them in the house, and you can't smell them, so it's not as bad. Once in a while, when they do mark, I do smell the male. People that are going crazy cleaning the cage too much will have a smelly problem. the more you clean the more the mark. You can still keep the cage pretty clean, but don't clean it all the way all the time.

third: you're almost right, they are my kids. :)

forth: high maintance. check sugarglider.net. they need lots of attention, specially if you have only one. If someone wants one of them they really need to be sure that they can give it to them.

fifth: I don't have an extra cage, so I don't know where to put them while they are flying. If I would have a cage I would fly them up there if you would pay for the ticket. I really don't know how much this would cost tho. I know there is a certain way to ship them, without much stress, I just have find that way. I don't want her to stress. She is not happy right now anyway because I took her from mom and dad, but I had to, to avoid inbreeding.

6th: they can glide a few feet. Not really sure how far, the girl did not glide as far yet.
