A nice Christmas StoryView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 10 of 10 messages posted.
I thought I'd share this becasue its a nice story. “we have a family that travles all the way from Washington State to NYC to sell there trees. They arrive on the Day after Thanksgiving and stay until Christmas Night. They bring their entire family with them and stay in their little Mobil Trailer and all the local stores help them out. They even wrote a book called "Christmas on Jane Street" They have been doing this at least 10 years now. its wild to see the kids year after year and see how they have grown. I tell ya it makes me feel so good inside when I see that little trailer on the corner every morning on my way to work. Im not sure why, But I love having that family here every year. The children are home schooled and very smart. Maybe deep down inside Id love to do something like that with my family. I think it would be cool.” 10:43:05 AM 12/03/02 “does anyone have something like that near them? or have heard of this?” 12:24:36 PM 12/03/02 “That is a nice story Mapleleaf. I hope that they do well with their sales this year.” 12:25:06 PM 12/03/02 “No, people here drive to PA to cut fresh trees, or buy from several garden centers. It actually sounds bizarre to me that the family wouldn't pick a city a lot closer to their home, since driving trees that far has to cut down on their profits.” 12:27:39 PM 12/03/02 “Well it seems to be working for them to have come back year after year.” 12:36:29 PM 12/03/02 “That is a nice story. I have a funny Christmas story... A few years ago I think the last year my daughter believed in Santa... Christmas morning very early of course, Jourdan runs in to get us up...well of course we had been up all night putting things together and waiting for her to go to sleep so Santa could make the big stop...LOL As Jourdan was getting ready to go to the tree...I just said STOP..... I quickly ask Steve if he got the cookies and milk from under the tree...he said no..oh my gosh this could be bad...So I kept Jourdan talking awhile Steve busy looking for the cookies and milk so as not to ruin the childhood dreams of Santa...well they were no where to be found.....Thinking about this I knew my dog, Zoe, who loves cookies, made the day..she had ate all the cookies and drank the milk in the night...GOOD DOG.... Santa will always have something special to put in her stocking... Anybody else got any cute stories out there? Happy Holidays Barbara” 12:39:41 PM 12/03/02 “It's not a Christmas story, but Easter. One year we couldn't find three of the hidden Easter eggs. My parents were freaking out, thinking about stink bombs a few months down the road. At that moment the dog burped and spit out a piece of eggshell. My parents hid the eggs higher than the dog could reach after that.” 12:45:23 PM 12/03/02 My Christmas Story “My brother and I had bunkbeds when we were kids, and I had the top bunk. Early Christmas morning when I was 5 or 6, I rolled out of the top bunk and dropped to the floor. My parents felt bad so they let us open our presents early. Pretty cool, huh?” 12:46:27 PM 12/03/02 “LyndyS is missing the other side of the equation that makes their trip to NYC worth it. They take their meager profits from tree sales and invest it in crack to sell in Washington State.” 1:13:49 PM 12/03/02 Tough Childhood “My mom was the church organist, and she was always at church on Christmas morning. My dad had to hold us back until my mom got back from church, so we could see what Santa brought us! That's so hard on a kid - to know Santa dropped that stuff off in the living room, and we couldn't get to it!” 1:18:10 PM 12/03/02
