Looking for a one particular knifeView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 24 of 24 messages posted.
Help “Does anyone rememeber a old Boy Scout Knife that was approx. 4" to 5" long x 1-1/2" diameter. It had a loop on the end so you could attach it to your belt or you could get the leather holder and attach it that way to your belt. This knife had a fork and a spoon that opened up from the outside of the knife. It also had the normal things like a awl, bottle opener, cork screw, scissors, nail file, screwdrivers and yes a long and short blade. This was not a Swiss Army Knife. I have talked to various knife dealers and they remember it but cannot tell me who made them or where I could get one. I have checked almost ever knife website around with no luck. I use to have one when I was a scout but I haven't seen it in yrs. Any help would be appreciated.” 3:35:08 PM 12/03/02 “Have you tried looking around on E-Bay?” 3:37:24 PM 12/03/02 Ewker “Dern, Ewker, you are showing your age. I remember those knifes. See you this weekend.” 3:42:52 PM 12/03/02 “Let me look in my box of old Boy Scout stuff. How much am I bid?” 3:50:01 PM 12/03/02 “He was so in love with her that he offered her anything that she may desire. 'All I want,' she cooed, 'is a solid gold Boy Scout knife.' 'But you can have anything in the world!', exclaimed the stunned suitor. 'That's all I want.' cooed the doll. When he brought her the solid gold Boy Scout knife, she beamed happily. 'Are you sure that this is all that you want to make you happy?' inquired the still mystified suitor. 'What are you going to do with it?' She opened a hope chest to put the knife inside, thereby revealing hundreds of similar gold Boy Scout knives. 'But....but...WHY?' stammered the confused man. 'Well,' she explained, 'right now I'm very young and beautiful and everybody wants me. But when I grow old, and not so attractive and desireable...can you imagine what a Boy Scout will do for one of these knives?'” 3:50:16 PM 12/03/02 “Ewker I totally remember those... I don't think they were a "brand" then... I'd look at kmart,walmart,sears...” 3:55:15 PM 12/03/02 “maybe the back of Boys Life magazine?” 3:57:08 PM 12/03/02 HEY LOOK! “Found it! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=743525843 I'd make it a link for you, but I'm at work and don't have my HTML cheat sheet in front of me.” 3:57:36 PM 12/03/02 “Now that I see it, I think mine was like this: ![]() I'll still look though.” 3:58:40 PM 12/03/02 “Search "boy scout knife" on e-bay, that's how I found the one on the link above. There are tons of them on there. I didn't initially see the knife and fork one, but then again I just gave the thumbnail pics a quick look over.” 4:02:09 PM 12/03/02 4:07:23 PM 12/03/02 Found one on Kathadan. Is it yours? “eWKER .. years and years ago (probably 27 years ago . . .when I was 10) I FOUND ONE . . .in Chimney Pond . . .half way up Mt. Kathadin in Maine. My brother helped me fish it out with a stick then we fought over it for the next several hours. it is probably still in my childhood tackle box . . ..unless mom threw that out (and probably has).” 4:07:29 PM 12/03/02 “Stovestomper, I figured you would remember them...lol Donman, I tried those stores a long time ago. The clerks (who were in their teens) looked at me like I was crazy when I described it to them. Santartex, I haven't checked e-bay. I never use e-bay so I will try it out.” 4:07:31 PM 12/03/02 “ ![]() I Found It!!!” 4:09:44 PM 12/03/02 “nope, none of those are it. The knife with all the accessories on the outside made the knife look almost round. It may not have been an offical Boy Scout Knife but everyone of us had one.” 4:11:47 PM 12/03/02 “Stovestomper, that is close but it doesn't have all the accessories like the original one did. You posted your message while I was typing mine so I didn't see the pic you posted.” 4:16:02 PM 12/03/02 5:51:07 PM 12/03/02 “I would try Camulus(MS)knife works. OR Imperal. 2cents I remember em.” 7:28:13 AM 12/04/02 7:57:53 AM 12/04/02 “Ewker, I certainly know the model you speak of. Particularly because there was the original and a host of cheaper knock-offs during that period. In junior high years, I got one of the latter as a gift from a friend's family for pet sitting their springer while they were out of town -- the stain used to color the fake stag handle plates came off on my hands. I may still have it in one of my basement storage boxes. Have to check. As you note, they were almost round in the hand because of all the items jammed into them, but especially the full-size fork and table spoon heads.” 8:20:18 AM 12/04/02 “Camillus has a site but does not sell from it. It is good for checking what they have to offer. There are plenty of cheap knockoffs with the fork and spoon, but they look like they'd fall apart if you ever took them out into the woods, and probably would.” 5:02:32 PM 12/04/02 “i found one in the BSA catalog i have. Its made by Ka-Bar so its not a piece of junk, but i don't know if its what your talking about go to http://www.scoutstuff.org then camping, cooking gear, then "vitt-l-kits" its on the bottom of the page.” 9:55:40 PM 12/04/02 “my old man's got one, its got the fork, spoon, and knife, and a bunch of other little trinkets on it- i never used it, as he always said it was too hard to clean and not handy enough (can only use one thing at a time) dunno if we kept it after the move though later, -nate” 4:22:25 AM 12/05/02 Wish I Could Post A Pic To Show You Guys “I have one that has over a dozen blades including a 2.5" fork and 1.5"wide spoon. The sucker is HUGE compared to other knifes of the like.” 4:29:08 AM 12/05/02
