Looking for a one particular knife

“Does anyone rememeber a old Boy Scout Knife that was approx. 4" to 5" long x 1-1/2" diameter. It had a loop on the end so you could attach it to your belt or you could get the leather holder and attach it that way to your belt. This knife had a fork and a spoon that opened up from the outside of the knife. It also had the normal things like a awl, bottle opener, cork screw, scissors, nail file, screwdrivers and yes a long and short blade. This was not a Swiss Army Knife. I have talked to various knife dealers and they remember it but cannot tell me who made them or where I could get one. I have checked almost ever knife website around with no luck.

I use to have one when I was a scout but I haven't seen it in yrs.

Any help would be appreciated.”

'Well,' she explained, 'right now I'm very young and beautiful and everybody wants me. But when I grow old, and not so attractive and desireable...can you imagine what a Boy Scout will do for one of these knives?'”

“Search "boy scout knife" on e-bay, that's how I found the one on the link above. There are tons of them on there. I didn't initially see the knife and fork one, but then again I just gave the thumbnail pics a quick look over.”

I FOUND ONE . . .in Chimney Pond . . .half way up Mt. Kathadin in Maine.

My brother helped me fish it out with a stick


then we fought over it for the next several hours.

Donman, I tried those stores a long time ago. The clerks (who were in their teens) looked at me like I was crazy when I described it to them.

“nope, none of those are it. The knife with all the accessories on the outside made the knife look almost round. It may not have been an offical Boy Scout Knife but everyone of us had one.”

“Ewker, I certainly know the model you speak of. Particularly because there was the original and a host of cheaper knock-offs during that period. In junior high years, I got one of the latter as a gift from a friend's family for pet sitting their springer while they were out of town -- the stain used to color the fake stag handle plates came off on my hands. I may still have it in one of my basement storage boxes. Have to check. As you note, they were almost round in the hand because of all the items jammed into them, but especially the full-size fork and table spoon heads.”

There are plenty of cheap knockoffs with the fork and spoon, but they look like they'd fall apart if you ever took them out into the woods, and probably would.”

“my old man's got one, its got the fork, spoon, and knife, and a bunch of other little trinkets on it- i never used it, as he always said it was too hard to clean and not handy enough (can only use one thing at a time) dunno if we kept it after the move though
