I have seen Tc2...
And, can't wait for TC3!

BB and I showed up around 8 (?) on Thursday night and were greated by TownDawg and Chili36. The rest of the weekend went by so fast it was almost a blur. The hikes were fantastic and the campfire was entertaining.

Happy to have spent time w/ old friends and make new ones. It felt as if we had all known each other for years.

Really looking forward to the folks from "the other side" and the lurkers to start posting.

The BRMS guys were way friendly and generous... and real troopers for hanging out w/ this gang for a weekend.

Matt, the webmaster - it was great of you to show up. Now, walkindude no longer can claim to be the only TTer to meet you. HA!

Bottom line: I had a great weekend.

The drive home took just about 8 hours. Just glad that I made it home in one piece. ;-)

The first prize to be handed out went to Buddha Bear on Friday night. He lit his stove under his tarp, and the propane cylinder burst into a ball of flames two foot in diameter almost touching his tarp. Buddha Bear gave the stove a well placed kick, and it landed safely outside his tarp, but the flaming stove bounced once, and landed adjacent to a nearby tent threatening to ignite the fabric with its protruding flames. Buddha Bear was forced to risk the propane tank exploding again when he moved in to kick the flaming stove it a second time. This time the stove landed away from all tents. While a few brave souls kicked snow on it reducing the ball of flame coming from the leaking stove, a fire extinguisher was eventually produced to kill the last of the flames. The first "Tin Horn" award for the biggest snafu of the event was immediately handed out since everyone present agreed no one could beat Buddha Bear's snafu for that award for the rest of the event.

Buddha Bear's "Tin Horn" Award: a New Stove.

Lost Time
I just woke up after being gone for 3-1/2 days. The last thing I remember was packing a viking helment in my army duffel. When I came to, I noticed several things:

1. My teeth were purple.
2. I smelled really bad.
3. My feet were hot.
4. My farts smelled like chili.
5. There were long blonde hairs all over my gear/car.
6. There was a different stove in my bag, compared to the one I packed.
7. I gained 5#.
8. There was an empty keg in my cooler.
9. The hairs on my legs were burned off.
10. I was wearing the same clothes.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THE HEII HAPPENED?

Rachel and I had a great time. We went sightseeing around the park after we left Sunday morning. We hiked a few miles to a great overlook on the north side of the park.

It was great to meet everyone!
I had a blast walking around and watching everyone cook and act like fools!

Good food and good times!

Thanks everyone!

The long blonde hairs all over his car and gear... A Llasa Apso is a dog with long usually light colored 'hair'. Didn't mean to use such an arcane reference!

The dark side has hold of me...
Well I've been lurking this site for a few weeks, even lurking this thread most of the day, and I think it's time to jump in the fire. I know, someone beat me to it already this weekend.

Thanks for a great time this weekend. It was good to meet all of you. Over on "the other site" people seem to think you guys are a bunch of loud, obnoxious, inebriated, unfriendly, goof offs. I'll have to go over there and set them straight - you all aren't unfriendly.

TownDog it was great meeting you and hiking with you. Thanks for setting this gig up and for posting the invite on "the other site." I look forward to next years event but I hope it won't be that long 'til I hike with some of you again.

Hey Opie: What, did you forget what I look like already? That's not me in that one campfire picture, it's Brett from that outfitter store in AL. Blame it on the lost brain cells...
