“LOL, not nuts in my pants :) kids are 9 and 12, the 9 year old likes to hike, but not in the cold. the 12 year old does not like to hike.

“Gemini, I get that feeling all the time. And since my son moved out, I can go out all the time. I don't ever get tired of it, except maybe Monday mornings when I need a little more sleep after the long drive home. I spent so many years at home "wanting" to go. I had to satisfy myself by doing local dayhikes every few weeks. Now the local mountains don't do it for me. I want the Sierra!

“I get this feeling quite a bit. I lamented a bit on this thread a while back. It's tough for me to make time to hike.

Lately I've been wondering if I should cut down on the TT posting, the gear shopping and the web-surfing and focus my energy on planning more time in the woods.”

same here, the local stuff is just too...well, i guess it doesn't do it for me either. I have to at least travel 2 to 3 hours, and then it's not the greatest hike either, but I am okay with it. The Sierras: one day! One day I will meet you there. :)
