“Mapleleaf, I kind of like to layer my winter clothes, like wear long johns under nylon windpants for hiking, with fleece pants to wear under windpants or rainpants in camp. That way I have choices and options if I fall into a creek or take a mudslide down a hill. Those pants are two for the price of one, but they are attached, and then you have to pay shipping. You can good stuff at Target and Campmor and EMS and LLBean without dealing with that.”

“Check out the High Peaks Pinnacle Bibs from Campmor for US99,99$. They're what I'm using now and I can swear by them. So far, I haven't used them with fleece, just with my poly base layer. I had fleece tights made that have velcro down the outside of the legs. Theoretically, I can put them on without taking off my bibs, my boots or my parka. They're supposed to be w'proof & b'theable, but I dopn't care and there was no condensation under my OR, Big Crock G-Tex gaiters and plastic boots. Can't beat them at the price IMHO.”

“Maple, They have full zips. That means you can drop the seat. I do admit they have a fly (Don't go ther, guys.), but they are the most practical thing I've found. I also have full side zip microfibre pants that are cheaper and all right, I guess, but the bibs rock.”
