The boys go across first. Then one boy takes the canoe back. The boy gets out, and the man crosses alone. The man gets out, and the boy on that side takes it back across, picks up the boy remaining on the original side, and they both go across.

Limpy, I typed the question just as it is in the official question and answer guide. Bit's answer is correct unofficially. That is the reason I told him that question #1 was misleading. You have to have more than a dollar in change but unable to make change.
I should call the publisher up and jump his case..lol

Limpy, the original question is as I posted it. I had thought of 99 pennies also but when I looked at the answer that wasn't it.

I think what they meant to say is what is the most coins you can have that totals over a dollar but you still cannot make change for a dollar bill.
Who knows there is probably more than one answer to this.
