Haiku Journal of an Urban Hiker

“As I stated in Nohikingpalooza, I am goign to try to get out and walk in the urban wilderness that is Minneapolis/St.Paul Minnesota each day. But rather than write about each detail (though I may be tempted at times), I will submit a Haiku about the day.

Franklin Avenue
culture, poverty, vigor
walk to go see art.”

“mountains of concrete
rise from the asphalt prairies
blocking the sunshine”

“seed stuck in pointing,
it germinates and takes hold,
chim-chimney tree!”

“river trip of doom
banjos, murder, sodomy
squeal like a pig, Ned!”

“Ok, changing format a little bit. Today was a good long hike so I'll write a couple.

Uptown Minneapolis to Downtown St. Paul via Lake and Grand.

Uptown Hip; Barrio
Culture, food, hip-hop; then the
rich and cake eaters

12 or more miles
I'm hungry, I guess I'll beg.
Ten bucks, good dinner.
