my family met up with mozark, jerbear, and jgeils yesterday at shores lake in the white rock national forrest(ozark highlands trail) and we dhuuttled up to the top of white rock mtn and hiked down to camp. saw a couple of nicee waterfalls, alot of tornado dammage, bear dookie(answering that age old question) and lots of other cool stuff. lots n lots of awesome "leaf off" views!
it was colder than snot this mornin though, GEESH!

the highlite was meeting 3 great guys. they never once complained about our 3 boys or buckshot or my jim beam or anything. they are all very cool doods and i hope we get the chance to hike with them again sometime(we talked alot about the trip in a couple weeks to the buffalo).

It was a pleasure to hike with you and your family dewd. The kids did a great job and hiked as well as any of us old folk(with the possible exception of Mozark Ernst.)LOL We look forward to hiking with you guys again and hope you can make the Buffalo trip. Actually, how can someone with the handle Buffalobabe not go on this trip. That would just be wrong. :)

ya'll should see JB's bear canister. it's made out of old space shuttle parts and they use them at fort knox to keep gold in.

Sounds like a cool trip dewd. Glad to hear the little one did OK.

I saw on the BRT thread that your bride(aka BuffaloBabe) now has "gear envy" after seeing some of the cool gear the other TTers had along. That means you're set! Gear makes great christmas presents.

Give bucksnot a pat onna head from me.

Moz finally checks in.................
I didn't have time to take photos! Strat's boys were on my heels or was it Buckshot? BTW those young ones are fine hikers.

Nice hike indeed I want to go back and check out the waterfalls after a big rain someday.

Jerbear and I went on to Devil's Den to day hike and check out the caves. Of course, we took Stratdewds advice and hit Uncle Sam's where Jer lighten his wallet a bit. Strat, thanks for the tip to US's.

Friday evening Jerbear and I hiked to Spirits Creek on the Ozark Highlands Trail and camped near a neat waterfall. Jer became very familiar with the first mile from the trailhead. That would be the steepest mile. He enjoyed it so much he hiked up it a couple of times. Ever seen a full grown bear sweat in 30 degree weather? Well it can happen. Be sure to ask him why he hiked that section twice!

Now you know the rest of the story.
