People have to make plans and arrange travel, time off, ect. to attend these events.
I think it's perfectly OK for people to ask questions about time, place, what's going on, where to stay.”

“I think dates and place is ok. for people to make arangements for time off. As far as what exact pinpoint location we are camping at and the such is irrevelant at this point.

For me, I know the dates, i know the place and I'll be there. Where to go from there will come down the road.

I'm sure there will be a campsite in town as well as a place in the backcountry. If it was anything like trail days then everything will be fine. The people of that town were at Trail days so that helped them plan for this. Heck, i didn't know where I was camping at until I got down there.

But I agree, A date and location should be mentioned as they are.. Just my opinion.”

“I will post a list of accomodations and the time frame of the "events". After that, everyone needs to make their own plans.

I can easily get this information from the people helping us up there. Of course, whatever I post is only an option. Each individual can make such plans as works best for them.”

“I think you guys are going in the right direction. Keep up the good work. I think that events should be posted on TT as nessary and when the time is right. Maybe have a "contact hotline" so that any questions or "BS" can be answered off line. No need to get the rumor mill going this early. I'm sure things will work out great and I'm hoping to attend/enter.

“Neither SS or myself were nitpicking. chili is a details guy just like the two of us. I'm just trying to find this sort of stuff out so that my wife can decide if she wants to go. Most folks don't want to know the particulars of campsites, but they do want to know if they'll hike 1 mile or 8 miles after a night on the town. I know what to expect from the Super Bowl, therefore date and time are ok. I don't know what to expect from TC3 while bringing a spouse since it will be significantly different than last year. I don't think TD or chili are insulted that folks ask questions.

As far as what number of rooms are available, how far the motel is away from the festivities, what restaurants are there, I will try to post as much as I can as I receive it. However, I don't think Valerie will be bothered by phone calls from people who are interested in going to the Town of Cumberland Gap and spending their hard earned money.”

“Because of how much fun last year was I really want my wife to get to go. She was going last year and the baby sitter bailed at the last second. Her only concerns are going to be how far away will the tent be and how far to the potty. Both have pretty much been answered. Looks like we'll be there now!”

Unless I am swamped at work, I think I am going to take a recon mission to Cumberland Gap the end of July. Although I am not a fan of hiking that time of year, I will probably take the kids, car camp and take short day hikes. It should give me a chance to gather as much information as I can in regard to the specific questions posted here.

I am inclined to think that we need to organize committees like we did last year. Safety, emergency plans, judging. If I can dig up one of the emails from TC2, I can probably figure out who served on which committee last year. This thing is still 4 months away, but experience has shown that unless most of the issues are ironed out long before we get there, feelings tend to get bruised.”

“I am not sure how the rest of the planning is going, but the Governmental Compliance Committee is pleased to report that we have a signed,,,,repeat,,,signed permit for the event reserving the two group camp sites. They are listed at 100 person capacity, but I doubt there will be any head counts if we go over by a few.

After last years fiasco with the Rangers, I sure didn't want a report performance.”

WE need to find time to run up to Cumberland sometime in July.”

“I spoke with Barb today and the town is making plans for the Friday night gig and for Saturday activities for those not trekking to the campsite.

We need to get an idea of how many will be there Friday. How many have someone coming with them that will stay in town on Saturday?

The BBQ will be in the Town of Cumberland Gap where they will have vendors, music, food, etc.

The TC3 competition will be at Martin's Cabin. It will be a 7 mile hike into the Tc3 site, which will be in the "backcountry".
