That's what I said about Granite Hills...looks a lot like Corcoran II. They have finally finished the new road to the front of the School...It actually looks pretty good from the front. LOL!

Not very often but I do get up there once or twice a year. Usually it's when I'm trying to get down into the Kern (Lloyd Meadows)before the Great Divide Highway opens.”

“Grant Grove is in King's Canyon National Park and home to the General Grant Tree... the third largest giant sequoia tree on the planet. Wilsonia is a private community next door. Porterville is down below in the San Joaquin Valley.”

Last time we went there for Christmas (we're going just after, this time) I ended up going to the hospital at 3AM because of a nasty cold/throat thing that they thought was pneumonia (it wasn't). Loads of fun....”

“Considering the fact that we canceled Christmas dinner at our house I think I will explore a bit with my snowshoes!”

“I just got back from some snowshoeing! I am sweating! There is a greenway in our development that is basically a hollow with a stream running through it. I have never been on it and it has no trail so I figured now would be a perfect time to check it out. I had to cut along the edge of a farmer's field to get to the area where the creek comes out and then I worked my way up. The area that the creek runs through is V-shaped with steep sides that are at about a 40 degree incline. The whole area immediately surrounding the creek is thick hemlock and the branches are are all icy and heavy with snow. It was very peaceful and I had to just stop and sit at the edge of the bubbling creek for a few minutes and just take take it all in! Isn't it amazing that just a short hike/snowshoe can be sooo rejuvinating!!!”
