Do any of you do this????View Messages“clutter, lol... My mom has a very "relaxed" style of housekeeping, which apparently I inherited. I let things pile up while going to school, but now that I'm done I'm trying to pare down years of accumulated stuff. I have this habit of putting clothes in bags to take to goodwill, then leaving the bag in the hallway where I can walk by it several times a day and say, "oh that's so pretty, I might wear that some day" even if it's a size I'll never see again. But I'm trying to be more ruthless and doing a pretty good job. One night I searched the entire house for my long red wool coat to wear to a party. Then I remembered that I decided I had too many coats and took it to goodwill. o(:}” 8:57:17 AM 12/18/02 “All the time!” 9:00:42 AM 12/18/02 “Clutter, dishes, laundry, all these things that need to be done, but no one (including me) wants to do them. Well I say they dont NEED to be done. Clutter? Throw it away!! unless it is gear then put it in your gear closet/room. Dishes? Use plastic and paper, or just use your hands. Better yet, just eat Mountain House, nothing but a pot to boil water in and spoon to wipe off with a paper towel. Laundry? Take it to the cleaners or just keep wearing your clothes until you smell like a wet dog. Back in the real world, Tahoe sets to the tasks at hand- fold laundry, empty dishwasher, and pick up the 'mess' that I made while going through my backpack.” 9:06:36 AM 12/18/02 Clutter “Lyndy..I read about this lady in the spring...that had solutions for clutter and I started using her methods..THEY WORK. Thing is it is a never ending process. I know though in my house that things get so overwhelming..it builds and builds till I just don't know where to start. www.flylady.net Check it out!” 9:12:47 AM 12/18/02 “OMG, that site is too funny. I'll try to ignore the sugar and instead absorb the bitter pearls of clutterless wisdom.” 9:36:15 AM 12/18/02 “Maple and I live in a small New York apartment and clutter is a way of life, even after 'uncluttering' the place. The reason for this is simply, there is not enough room for everything. So9, we live the traditional New York style of 'vertical creativity.'” 10:01:04 AM 12/18/02 “About two years ago my wife and I seperated. I've been using my Rocky cup for a measuring cup ever since. An MSR pot is often used in the kitchen as well.” 2:29:15 PM 12/18/02 “Clutter -- ugh, we talk about dealing with it, but ... As for using camp gear at home, we had an ice storm overnight that came with plenty of early warnings -- so before bed I filled a Camelbak and a 2-liter Army canteen from the gear stash in case there was a power outage and told my wife that if the lines were down, we'd still be able to make coffee this morning with one of the camp stoves and GSR Lexan presspot. I was disappointed that, while we got about a quarter inch of ice on everything, it wasn't quite enough to down power lines and let me use my camping gear for an emergency day.” 2:40:18 PM 12/18/02 “LOL Pekka, you sound like me. I told my husband that if the power went out, I could use my camping equipment to cook with, and he said "Well yes, or I could just fire up the grill and cook on that." Yes folks it was deflating, but he was right.” 2:44:49 PM 12/18/02 “LMAO LyndyS! You poor thing!” 2:47:31 PM 12/18/02 “Thank you treebeard. Vertical creativity is my new mantra. Only problem is it doesn't stay vertical very long. Hmmmmmmm. Horizontal creativity? No, not that. I know. An entire creed. That's it: Vertical creativity flows into horizontal creativity if man but refrains from interfering in areas he knows nothing about. Hah!” 4:27:33 PM 12/18/02 “Thanx, Geo! Now, you can say we are vertically challenged... But that gets into the politically incorrect assumption that I am short. Now, maybe you could say that about my dear little Mapleleaf. You see, my kids are growing as we speak and dwarfing the poor girl (I must stop watering them). However, as evidenced when we met, you could see that this Treebeard is not exactly low to the ground. I'm rambling, aren't I...” 8:03:24 AM 12/19/02 “Another thing that i do... I didn't have any measuring cups so I used my nalgene to measure water around the house...I finally bought some measuring cups at wal mart last week though.” 10:00:34 AM 12/19/02
